Out of body experiances
I've always wanted to have one and float around and stuff but I really have no clue where to start. Anyone know where I can find out how to try and have one or anybody have any pointers? It sounds like fun and not too dangerous.

Be careful because maybe something is waiting to take your body.
Here are some things I remember... *Aspirin helps *Tempereature of the room should be so you can't feel if it's hot or cold. *Head should pointed north, feet south. *Be completely relaxed and try to sleep, then when you feel yourself slipping into a dream, try to imagine yourself lifting out of your heavy body. *If you try too hard it wont happen. Keep in mind that there has never been any concrete proof that there is a such thing as out of body experiences, that most of what people feel and see could be a trick of the mind. I came across this book years ago, and he made the whole thing available on his website:
http://robertpeterson.org/obebook.html Good stuff, no mysticism or New-Agey crap. Just a regular guy.

Dangerous? I sincerely doubt that. It can feel dangerous, that's for certain, but it's pretty much just a strange kind of dream. I started having them rather frequently earlier this year, the result of training myself to have lucid dreams. Ironically, my first OBE was a direct result of my scepticism and disinterest in them. They're certainly strange, but I don't like them as much as a regular lucid dream, in fact they can be downright disturbing if you don't know that you're dreaming.
My method is like this: Sleep erratically, this increases your chances of finding yourself in sleep paralysis - sp is fucking frightening until you come to terms with it, after that it is your friend and gateway to interesting dreaming. I've only ever had OBE's in the morning, good morning sleep conditions are lots of people banging around and talking loudly outside your bedroom door - this means that you'll wake up quite often, though for very short periods of time, this will encourage 'false awakenings' which you'll often experience both before and after OBE's. Trying to learn how to achieve lucid dreams is probably the best way to have an OBE because they're closely related.

OOBEs are neat.. used to happen to me all the time.. i've been able to witness many things that I'd never had been able to see or have access to.
I got to the point that i could do it almost at will.... it takes some practice....

An out of body experience can be very different from a lucid dream. When you have a real out of body experience you KNOW for SURE that you've had one.
As for the dangerous aspect i was mostly referring to drug induced out of body experiences. You're literaly taking your life into your hands if you choose that method. So research is the key.
