radio guessing songs?
Ok seeing the 11:11 post made me remember this
ok lately and all my adult life.. at times i can guess correctly 12 outta about 20 songs on the radio before they play.. and this isnt my sub going off cuz they announced it three songs before.. i either start singing the song or say it out loud and it plays.. anyone do this.. this also stems from the ability of me picking up the phone and saying hi and knowing who it is before they say anything.. lol my mom tells me i dont need caller id.. pisses off the telemarketers though..

It means only one thing, and everything: Cut. Once committed to fight, Cut. Everything else is secondary. Cut. That is your duty, your purpose, your hunger. There is no rule more important, no commitment that overrides that one. Cut. The lines are a portrayal of the dance. Cut from the void, not from bewilderment. Cut the enemy as quickly and directly as possible. Cut with certainty. Cut decisively, resoultely. Cut into his strength. Flow through the gaps in his guard. Cut him. Cut him down utterly. Don't allow him a breath. Crush him. Cut him without mercy to the depth of his spirit. It is the balance to life: death. It is the dance with death. It is the law a war wizard lives by, or he dies. |

Precognition. It's a great ability if you have it. I wish I did. Put some effort into it and you might be able to pick winning horses at the track!

my friends and I had a theory about this...that it's all related to radio waves. There are so many waves passing through the air, and the human brain is bound to pick some up on a subconscious level. I think sometimes a brain picks up a song, especially the catchy ones, from the radio wave, and when you go to turn on the radio, you happen to turn it to that station. It happens to me all the time.

I have this also, when I really really want a song to play, I'll turn on the radio and within 1-2 songs it's on the air. I'm not talking about the regular plays either, I'm saying off the wall tracks that don't get played too often. Another one I have is where I will pick up the phone a second before it rings. This one happens ALL the time. Other little things that happen to me is where I'll wake up about 5 sec. before my alarm goes off. There are other things, I've dreamed events to happen, and often. Stuff like that.

Have you tested this objectively? The subconsh attaches more significance to wierd events so you tend to discount the normal ones and end up with bad stats. MrSelfDestruct and TheFirstDuffMan have good points. Try having your radio off and tuned to a random station. Before you turn it on, guess what the next song to start will be, not the one playing then tune your radio to the next station, turn it off, come back 5 mins later and try again. Log how many you get right and how many wrong as you go along, don't just try to remember. It might be interesting to see what the results are like for guessing 2 ahead, then 3 ahead, etc. Let me know if you try this, I'd be very interested to see the results.

Depending on the time of day you're listening to the radio, the playlist can be very short. It's not uncommon to rotate the same dozen high-traffic tunes during the evening hours. Try guessing the next five songs and getting them all right, instead of 12 out of 20, which is 3 out of 5--pretty good, but not supernatural, considering the nature of mainstream radio these days. The current playlist for Live 105, the big modern rock station in San Francisco, is only 37 songs. When you get familiar with a station, it's not unusual to be able predict the songs during the high-traffic times of day.
