Darkness Falls. . . Freaked me out!!!!

ok, did anyone watch darkness falls and get freaked out??? I know that I sure did, I am still afraid to walk around in the dark by myself, and i hate going to the bathroom at night cuz the hall ways are dark and its really creepy. . . on top of that after i went to watch it me and my room mate went back to go to bed and i was all freaked out and she told me that I should be scared because i was on the top bunk and she came from the cieling and i was closer and that gave her fair warning to run and find light!!! how evil was that. . . *grumble, grumble* evil roommate

anyways are you at least afraid of the dark???

WhoaitsZ 09-07-2003 06:16 PM

... it's a movie...

Nimbletoe 09-07-2003 06:24 PM

I'm gonna go ahead and have to disagree with you on this one. Even though I did have a large fear of the dark as a kid, this movie was poorly done in my opinion. It left NOTHING to the imagination, kind of like the second half of Jeepers Creepers. The tooth fairy? Come on now. I thought Gigli was scarier than this movie heh. Just my opinion though, im sure it has potential to scare people, just not me.

O_o

The only movies that have ever freaked me out was the exorcist and blair witch.. yeah I know.. I suck at being freaked out by movies...

Nimbletoe 09-08-2003 08:28 AM

When I went to see blair witch in the theater, it was storming hard outside. It was kinda neat because it added storm sounds to the movie, but at one of the most suspenseful parts, the power went out and it was pitch black. So needless to say, the first time I saw that movie I got a little freaked =)

i'm abit afraid of the dark.. it makes me feel uncomfortable...

but the movie didn't freak me out... now i'd freak out if I was going out with Emma Caufield... :) she's hotness.

WhoaitsZ 09-08-2003 07:34 PM

saw exorcist at 8. big booboo.

after that nothing's scared me. though during Event Horizen i almost walked out

on tv, no big deal. in theator, egads.

blair witch was fun in theator.:)

boring on tv

Darkness Falls freaked me out a little bit, even though in the end it ends all happy and they show you that yes, the Tooth Fairy has been killed for good and yes, there's nothing to be afraid of now.

Just always had a thing about the half-dark, I guess. In total darkness, I can't see it coming. In half dark, I can see enough to know something is moving and what the fuck was that?! I'm glad you're holding my ha- WHERE'D YOU GO?!?!

nostalgic1 09-08-2003 07:59 PM

nope.. definitely didn't scare me that much..

i'll admit.. every now and then if i'm walking somewhere in the pitch black... i'll think about it... but its not to the point where i'm going to run and find light quickly...

When I was 4 years old, I wanted to see The 7 Samurais. It was on at midnight, and my parents didn't want to see it. So they went to bed, and I stayed up to watch it alone. I have cool parents!
One of the first pictures taken of me, by the way, was at age 1 or something - I was standing on the couch, holding on the the side, staring into the TV screen as the words 'THE MASSACRE' appears on the screen. That picture turned out to fit pretty good to my movie-watching preferences :)

The premise of the movie can be scary..but then i realized it was really about the tooth fairy..Took away from the fear a bit. I figured it to be a poor man's "The Ring"

I have a really hard time with getting any movie to scare me.. I've yet have one too.

Anyone recommend a good one? :)

Nimbletoe 09-11-2003 08:27 AM

The Silent Hill videogames have scared me more than any movie has thus far.

Heh. The Ring was sorta creepy, but the REAL fun to be had is if you've got a cell phone that you can call the person at just the right time...

ok people just want to clarify the fact that i am terrified of the dark, have been almost always will be. and the movie tripped me out becuase it takes place mostly in the dark with things just grabbing random people. My worst fear ever is to be alone in a pitch black room and not know whats in there, cuz i have a very active imagination. and i have watched the exorcist and stigmata and niether of them freaked me out.

I am very relieved that the tooth fairy is dead but when i have children, knowing me i would make my child leave the tooth under the pillow and make them sleep with me and my husband just to make sure.

I am the ultimate wimp

Event Horizon was pretty creepy. I'm not really afraid of the dark, but I haven't seen Darkness Falls

pr0f3n 09-18-2003 10:03 PM

Darkness Falls didn't do it for me, was easily the worst acting and horror genre script I've seen in years. Blair Witch creeped me out, but I was more just impressed with the innovative style.

Anyway, the movie that still freaks me out is Poltergeist. I've had a few of those odd "I KNOW that wasn't there a second ago" moments and I get flashes of that movie and will get a chill up my spine. But the real fugga was the Clown, man.. I can't look at a clown anymore. I saw this movie when I was like 9, and I saw clowns leaping out of dark doorways until I was fifteen.. My parents in their infinite wisdom even made me watch the clown scenes over and over to try and show me the "strings" on the clown..

I nearly pissed my pants when I saw Pee-Wee's Big Adventure a few years later.. when his bike was stolen, and the clown got evil.. nm, we've reached the TMI point :hmm:

The Excorcist is the best scary movie of all time. Hands down.

I was so excited by the Blair Witch Project before I saw it. The Sci-Fi channel and Internet hype did amazing things for that movie. The creators behind the whole Blair Witch myth (including a fake time line and whatnot) were absolute geniuses. I absolutely hated it. Awful. It's kind of a fun movie to talk about. Then they made a sequel...which I can kind of understand because of the the first one's success...but it was done like a real movie is done...which kind of ruined the whole "reality" thing. Had they "discovered more footage in the woods" it would have been hard to believe, but follow the whole reality bit. Hmph.

If the movie freaked you out THAT badly why don't you keep a flashlight with you?

Eowyn_Vala 09-29-2003 02:08 PM

The scariest movie ever in my opinion is The Exorcist. After that probably Darkness Falls over The Ring. The Ring really didn't freak me out that much. Darkness Falls did for one reason and one reason only, I am not scared of the dark just what is in the dark. If I am in a place that I know I am okay, it is only when I am in places I don't know and it is dark that I can get scared easily.
