anyone else think this is really wierd.

Last night I went into a chat room on yahoo, and as soon as I went into it, a guy with the name 'warlock' said 'hi steve' into the chat, which is my real name. Thinking he was probably talking to someone else I kind of shrugged it off. No one answered and no one in the chat was even talking. He said Hi again with that wierd laugh smiley into the main chat. I kind of got freaked out and private messaged him asking if he was talking to me. He didn't say nothing but requested that I voice chat with him, and I declined and got the hell off yahoo messenger. Should I be worried? I am always kind of freaked out about demons and the dark spirits and worried they will try to get me. Maybe he was talking to someone else I hope.

Under the name I was under, only my best friend knows that name, and he wasn't online, and this guy was in the chat before I came in, he didn't follow me in there.

edit: and can anyone give me some kind of comfort. They can't really hurt me can they. Is there anything to do that I can protect myself. I am paranoid and have a lot of anxiety, I think I am going to be put on medicine.

Don't forget that the name steve, or the occurance of meeting people who like to pretend to talk to people they might not know, is common. There is always a chance that he got lucky with the name. Sure, that possibility might be very unlikely, but hey, its a possibility.

Of course, your best friend, unless you know exactly where he was at that time, could have been playing a prank on you and was actually in the chat room with you.

I don't think that this should be anything to worry about, but I understand the paranoia. If this person knows your first name by some strange coincidence, there really isn't much he can do with just your first name. No worries mate.

I keep thinking he was probably talking to someone else. A few minutes after he said 'hi steve' a man with the screen name steve_(somethin) came in the chat. Still wierd. Especially with the name warlock (male witch or demon).

I am also worried because as a child I used to play the ouija board and have interest in it (however nothing happened). I'm worried a spirit is following me from that but I doubt it.

I still think it could have been your friend. How do you KNOW he wasn't online? Its rather easy to have more than one name, and you said yourself that only HE knew about that name. So I assume you have more then one, and this one is your anonymous name... wouldn't it sound logical if your friend had one of those names too? Perhaps the one you ran into is your friend's anonymous name as well.

Aside from that, did he say "Hi" everytime someone entered?

He coulda been randomly luck, Psychic, WhackJob, or just your friend. My bet is the first or the last (although your friend might also be a whackjob ).

As for the name 'warlock'........ I've played video games with someone using the name of GOD, it never made me wonder.. "Did I just frag God?" Its just a name, maybe he's a fantasy role-player, or gothy, or had a name that he could use to fit into chats. Think nothing of the name, until they prove to you otherwise. I really doubt you look at my name, and wonder if my face is constantly covered with Nickoledean Gak, (not how the name was derived mind you) but that is the name. Thus my point.

I think demons can only really hurt you if you let them.. or if you believe that they can therefore giving them a weakness in you to exploit. Just have to build up your armour...

There are tons of Steve's out there. Hell, my best friend's name is Steve. He always screen names like "Oni Stevo" or "DarkStevo" or "MasterJediStevo", so he's not surprised when people figure out what his name is. The only SN that he's ever used that didn't have "Stevo" in it was "BountyBandit". Heh. Just know that Steve is an extremely common name.

Chill man, get off Yahoo and go outside. Demons can't get you in the sunshine...unless they know your name. Hi Steve!

Sorry man, I actually wanted to write something serious, but a posting like this is like asking to be punched in the head. RELAX!

Some fo you guys don't seem to be taking this seriously. Obviously steve is upset and paranoid and some of you just seem to be poking fun at it.

For steve: paranoia is often very irrational. i suffer fromit too. You just have to think about it and work it out for yourself. Is that really the rational explination for this guy saying hi steve? Especially if he said it to someone else who came on right after you?

Yea, its quite common for demons to make contact with their victims on Yahoo. It saves them a lot of time in that they don't have to appear and... uh... stuff.

/sarcasm

The guy was probably doing what I was doing. If I see a friend online in Yahoo, I tell them to meet me in a room. Then before they come in, I say "Hi _____!" just so people ask me, "hey, how'd you do that?!"

I know its stupid, but that's probably all he was doing.

Why didnt you accept his invitation to chat?
You were seriously that scared?

Why does one assume things supernatural are evil?
A long time ago, I used to be really good at things like that, down to the clothes they were wearing! Im not joking!
I actually got my computer to test the ability I had!
I spent hours in chat rooms to see if I could get responses from people that I would "sense".
Some have gifts or talents, so to speak, and chat rooms are a great place to develop them without making your real friends thing your a nut.
Over the years, sadly, I dont get vibes like that very often at all. I miss it.
It very well could have been someone playing a joke on you but then again, you should have, at least, found out what they had to say.

Steve, I wouldn't look into it anymore than you already have, but do me a favor and just tell yourself that it might happen again. If someone was just fucking around and then saw how fast you signed off you might be pegged as a easy target. And where there's one asshole there usually is another or two, so just remember that it could happen again.

Look at the bright side as well Steve, If it was a spirit be glad that it's just a weak ass pussy spirit on yahoo as opposed to anything out Hellraiser.
