True paranoia
 

Okay, so here's the situation. I'm at a bar for lunch with some friends. We're sitting near the door of the place. Everybody that walks in looks at me. They don't look at anyone else at the table, not the hot blonde, not the hobbit looking dude, me...they look at me. Not just a glance mind you, but a full fledged stare.

I didn't say anything to anyone because I just thought I was having an acid flashback or something. The next time we went out, same group, the same thing happened. Different place than before. Again, I said nothing, because let's face it...even I thought I was fucked in the head.

We went to the same bar the third day as we had the first and it was happening again. I mentioned something this time. I said, "They're all looking at me...everyone that comes in is staring at me. Do I have anything on my face?!??" Of course this resulted in them sliding away from me and concerned looks. I assured them that I wasn't crazy and convinced them to watch and see for themselves.

The next group of three businessmen that walked in stared right at me and ignored them. My friends called it chance. Then it happened with the next group, a family on vacation taking in the sites of Beantown. Each of them looked at me longer than is normal. My friends were stunned as they watched just about everyone that walked in do the same thing.

They readily admitted that I was in fact being stared at and that each of them would have been just as uncomfortable. I mentioned it to my wife and she thinks that it's funny. She admits it happens to me too. We figure that I must have a familiar face or something. Either that or I'm a freakshow. I'm hoping I just seem familiar to people.

Probably just a freakshow ;)

I'd start thinking I was on the Truman Show.

I hated the truman show. I don't like movies where the character is basically trapped in a bubble, something he can't control or even know about, or does, but can't do stuff about. It's just frustrating to me, I feel like I'm them, it makes me mad and tired. Ok, maybe I'm the one thats screwed in the head.

Maybe you look like someone famous? Or perhaps you're just strikingly attractive... :p

Sounds like what I was like without my antipsychotics .. It was hell on ice, hallucinating and being paranoid of everyone. Thankfully I am on one again and it's working very well.

It's presence. We are cursed with it. It has nothing to do with age or gender, looks or brains. Now that you have realized your effect on others, with practice you will be able to either draw or repel people. I've found it a good thing. Sad to say I know of no way to obtain it.

You do look very similar, maybe the people in your town are just really rude!

Maybe you always eat the same thing and always get ketchup or something on your shirt? I always eat tomatoes and always (w/o exception, yep) get the seeds on my shirt when I eat a burger in public.

hmmmmmmm thats wierd..... I kinda have the same problem with kids..... kids from like 4 to about 10 years old are always talking to me at stores and stuff.... like out of the blue... I always tell them "didn't your mom tell you not to talk to strangers???" they always say.... "yyyyeeeeessssssssss" SO I ask why you talking to me??? " I don't know..." Everytime I go to the store this kind of stuff happens. I just hope no kids disappear after i shoo them away. There will be 10 witnesses... I saw the kid talking to that guy there....

ok i guess its not the same.... but theyare similar in that a group of people are somehow attracted to you for some reason. Its wierd.
