OBE's
Early this morning I had what many people would describe as an 'Out of Body Experience'. It was very interesting, I woke up, but was in sleep paralysis, but instead of trying to struggle I fell back to sleep, but entered a lucid dream. I was aware of the fact that I was lying in bed asleep, but then I began to peel away from my body and float down away from, and under the bed, it was all incredibly realistic, I could see my foot sticking out from under the covers and my room looked as real as it would in real life. I then had an incredible sensation of movement, I was moving backwards incredibly quickly, the room disappeared and I was just floating about under a night sky. Throughout all this I had complete conciousness, I knew that I was actually asleep in bed, and I mentally walked myself through what I had eaten for dinner the previous night to keep my conciousness sharp.
I don't believe for a second that so called OBE's are really the soul (or anything for that matter) departing from the body, it's quite clear that they are merely lucid dreams, but it's interesting nonetheless that so many people seem to experience the same kind of thing, and I can see why some people would believe they are something more than dreams because they do feel very real. Has anyone else experienced similar things? |

I've come close. I often wake up and experience sleep paralysis, and try to separate my astral self from my body. The most I've managed so far is to pull myself up a few inches, roll 360° and then 'land' back in my body.
What you have to wonder is, did you see anything verifiable that you could not have seen without being out of your body? If not, it may have just been a lucid dream. Have you had lucid dreams before that you can compare it to? |

Yeah I've trained myself quite well and just recently I've started to slip into a lucid state a few times a week, but usually my dreams aren't so close to home. it was strange because after the 'OBE' I had a false awakening whereby I logged the entire dream in a notebook, I was in a seriously weird state this morning, lots of noise in my environment.
wazz: no I had no control, I had my conciousness but I was just goin for a ride :P
