Birds trying to get in the house = death?
I am VERY skeptical about paranormal/supernatural stuff. I'm an atheist, I don't believe in any sort of afterlife, etc, etc, etc.
I had always heard that superstition about how a bird in or trying to get in your house signified a death in the family, but of course considered it a load of bullshit. My granddad died a few years ago. The very next day after he died, this fucking bird kept trying to get in through our kitchen window. It would sit on the ledge and flap against the glass for a while, then it would fly back to a nearby tree and just sit there perfectly motionless and stare through the window. This would go on for at least an hour, and it happened every single day for a week (same bird every day, as far as I could tell). And it never happened before or since. Anyone else ever have something like this happen? It would take a lot more than a bird to make be believe in an afterlife, but I must say that it kind of disturbed me and it's have to be one hell of a coincidence. |

Every summer a cardinal perches on a branch outside of my computer room, and repeatively flies into the large glass window. This doesn't kill the bird, it has been back every summer, to do the same thing for at least a week before it dissapears again. After so long all of the family has gotten used to it, but it still freaks out the cats. Whichever one of our three housecats kill it first is going to get treats.
But anyhow, nobody has died anything soon, and it doesn't look like anybody will. There hasn't even been a death of a relative. As freaky and superstitious as it may be, I think it's a fairly common occurance, especially during the seasons when you have a lot of songbirds in your area. |
