What did Prez Bush do when he heard about 9/11?

It's interesting that mainstream media didn't look very hard into Bush's activities the morning of 9/11. If you ask the average citizen they will probably remember him flying around the southern US and eventually landing in Oklahoma.

Take a look at this and then tell me what you think.

There's a link buried deep in the text of the above page that's even better.

Interesting read. Good find Bent!

Thanks, the credit actually goes to my twin brother as he turned me on to the site.

Interesting read but I think they are only looking at the surface of the situation.

Obviously the President was somewhat hamstrung by being in the middle of smalltown USA at the time...would he have not had to wait for further instructions, briefings, etc? Furthermore, maintaining a composed and in-control facade is all part of the role the President plays in international relations - he cant just run for the hills at the first sign of anything.

That said, it is a bit strange...

I read that article and was totally waiting to hear "and that is how you can tell that Bush planned 9-11" but it never came....

I agree. Although, I don't think he planned it. I also don't think it was coincidence that Cheney and the gang in DC had a big impact on Bush not flying directly back to Washington. I'll let you draw your own conclusions about that. Remember, it was the single greatest intelligence failure this country has seen since Pearl Harbor. Or was it?

I heard somewhere that a plane hired by the government went around the country picking up relative of Bin Laden and flew them out of the US.

That's crazy stuff.....seems pretty credible. If so, I have even more reason to hate good ole G Dubya

I think it is a shame when our president says "Hoo!" as an exclamatory relief of happiness.

:P

If you really want to get into it, I read on a conspiracy website a few weeks ago that FDR had foreknowledge of Pearl Harbor.

Something to think about.

Old thread revival, but I found something interesting I remember posting about Bin Laden family being flown out of the country. Loup, don't if he/she still post here pointed to a website stating it was false. I found this today:

Quote:

People close to the commission are expecting a bitter confrontation between Pickard and Ashcroft. Pickard is expected to scorch Ashcroft for showing little interest in terrorism before 9/11, Newsweek has learned. The A.G. denied proposed funding increases for FBI counterterrorism programs. Ashcroft is expected to say that Pickard could have shifted resources if he thought it was so important. Commissioners will ask both of them why bin Laden family members were flown out of the country after the attacks.

Now the truth is coming out about this, wonder how long before the whole truth is learn.

What would you expect that he do? I suspect that if he had jumped into action right away, people would be saying that he had knowledge of it beforehand and played his part as planned. Besides, I'd prefer that he stay calm and form a strategy (insert "dumb Bush" joke here) before going ahead and doing some irrational. People will spin anything to support their cause.

P.S. I don't support Bush, but I don't think it's right to speculate about anything that you don't have the facts to. That doesn't mean you just sit back and don't do anything, but that you keep searching for the truth so that you can make informed decisions and opinions.

I think the website is making too much of his inaction. The Secret Service wouldn't remove the President; he wasn't in immediate danger. And jumping up and running around like a chicken with his head cutoff would do nothing.

He did the right thing by presenting an aura of normalcy.

To me i dont care what he did during 9/11. What could he of done?
I like him for who he is. I am sure he felt bad being the pre. and this having happened. I bet he felt like he let a lot of ppl down.
