America, From Freedom to Fascism-Orwellian Documentary
I am posting this in the paranoia thread, because I really hope that it is paranoia. If not, please feel free to move it to wherever it should be. Also, I did search but did not find this.
This is a short, part 1 of a documentary that it is due out July 28. The filmakers purpose originally was to answer the question of if a Federal Income Tax was legal, since it is not constitutional. The film then delves into the fact that the Federal Reserve is not at all Federal, but privatized and controlled by central banks-who ultimately yield governmental control in this country. This film is only about 14 minutes, but there is so much to it that I can't cover it all. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...edom+to+facism The following link is an interview with the filmmaker, which I found to be much better than the video itself. I thaught the video was a little campy at times. The interview is more detailed. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...uration%3Along My nievety never ceases to amaze me. I never would have thought the Federal Reserve was not Federal. Maybe I am just stupid, but yes I did think that there was a bunch of gold in Ft. Knox that backed our money. And could those accusations about the "chips" possibly be true? Please, someone tell me I am a fool for listening to this. However, I did like the point in the video and the interview about how it's time to stop being democratic or republican, and to be American. Clever, clever how the "powers that be" can get away with so much, while the left and the right squabble in the schoolyard. And Michael Moore bought into it to. If you have the time to watch both of these, check them out........and please tell me not to be so gullible Meanwhile I am going to watch the interview again, to see if I can pick anything else up. |

Every country in the world uses fiat currency as opposed to a gold, silver or other standard. Though wikipedia does tell me that

Didn't the US use to back the dollar with gold or silver? I think the problem is finding enough gold and silver to cover ll of the cash money. Either gold wuld cost $50,000/ounce or it would have to be as plentiful as water, but still valuable.
I'll watch the video later. It sounds interesting if everything is factual. And if they get rid of the income tax, they will just tax us through higher property taxes. |

Yes, due to inflation, precious metal reserves are difficult for nations as a whole to use. The US, I believe, was the first nation to stop using the gold standard for backing their money and also, I believe, the first to print paper money in place of valued currency coins.
As for the videos, I'll try to check them out tonight. Sounds interesting... Quote:

Federal Income Tax is constitutional by this:
Amendment XVI The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

If what these videos are saying is correct, then this is some seriously scary stuff. While I knew the Federal Reserve was private, I'd never heard this point of view before. It seems to me that, unfortunatly, this country has become so focused on other issues that the real problems go unnoticed by the masses; thus nothing gets done, and we slide further down the slope...
OT, I just read Confessions of an Economic Hit Man the other day, and the issues discussed in it tie right into what these videos are saying. It's a good book that while scary, is worth the read. |
