country recommendations - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I'm a northener who never really got into country music but I've been coming around a lot lately. I like Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. Don't really like any of the newer MTV friendly country musicians I've seen on tv selling pick up trucks and the like.

Any recommendations on musicians to look up?

Chris Ledoux...
He was the real deal, 1976 Bareback bronc champ, owned and worked his own ranch up until his death earlier this year.
