Some Nice HipHop being put out
..Not that real hiphop hasn't been being put out it's just been kinda quiet, Alot will be released soon.
Little Brother - The Minstrel Show. The Source gave it 4.5 Mics, XXL Gave it a XL and Scratch magazine is calling it a classic. If you haven't heard this MC, This guy is crazy on the mic. I may be mistaken, But i'm pretty sure that 9th Wonder is responsible for most of the beats along with Khrysis..Two sick producers. Ah yes, The boot camp clik Sean Price - Monkey Barz. I think it's been out for couple months. I just picked up this album, It's NICE. Buckshot, I'm not even sure what the album is called, But i hear it's good. Smif & Wessun - Reloaded. Release date is Sept 13, Anybody who knows these guys will be grabbin this for sure. Kanye West - Late Registration. Release date (Aug 30) I slept on his debut album, I think his 2nd is gonna be good also. U-God/Goldenarms - Mr Excitment. (Sept 13, I think) Big Shug - Who's Hard?. (Sept 13) Mostly produced by the one and only DJ Premier AZ - A.W.O.L. Sept 26 Public Enemy - Rebirth of a Nation. No release date yet, Really looking forward to this album. Other than the other day when i picked up Sean prices new album, 7L & Esoteric's Moment of rarities album and Little Brother's The Listening album..I haven't bought any hiphop that has overly impressed me much. But i'm liking the looks of what's about to be released.

I'm really anxious to hear what it's gonna sound like myself, They got some nice features on the album that include Dead Prez, Immortal technique and MC Ren. I know those names mean nothing to you Charlatan, It should be a very political album i'm thinking.

I'm lookin forward to Kanye's new album. I just heard on BET's Rap City that Kanye got Nas on his album, Nas! Can't wait to hear that track, Nas is one of my favorite MC's.

Actually 9th Wonder took the whole "God's Son" album and Re-produced the beats..he called it "God's Stepson" If i get a chance, I will try to get it off my cousins computer and upload it onto yousendit.com..The beat he put over the Ether lyrics will blow your mind..

9th wonder also did the Murs 3:16 album, which is excellent.
Two biggest albums for me this year so far have been S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. by One Be Lo (formerly One Man Army of Binary Star) and, without a doubt the best album of the last few years that didn't have MF DOOM, Beauty and the Beat by Edan. Seriously, that album is redicuously nice. There's been some other good releases this year (Blueprint, Common, Quasimodo are some notable ones) but far and away the best has been Edan. I'll add a couple of other things to look out for as well- Ras kass-Institutionalized Jakki the Motamouth-***vs. Satan and the album that will make all other of this year's music sound like a bag of pots with a yowling cat being kicked down a flight of stairs: MF DOOM and Danger Mouse (Dangerdoom)-The Mouse and the Mask. And for Strange Famous, I didn't much like selling live water, but I did like alot of the earlier Anticon releases. Don't know if you have them, but you might want to check out: Them-Them Deep Puddle Dynamics-Taste the rain...why kneel Buck 65-Man overboard (honestly, his whole catalouge up to and including talking honkey blues I think is really good) Anticon Presents...Music for the Advancement of Hip-Hop (great compilation, gives you a sampling of some of the many Anticon artists [some, like Sage Francis, Buck 65, and Slug who are no longer with the label and the label sorely miss, IMO]) Sage Francis-Personal Journals |

danger doom is good, but somehow i liked danger mouse better on demon days and doom better on venomous villains (among others). also 2 songs use samples i was hoping to use at some point...
late registration is great though. a definitely improvement, and (almost) no more helium vocals. supposedly got 5 stars in (cough) rolling stone. i don't know if it's perfect, but probably the best thing to come out in a while. "touch the sky" is probably my fav, although i really liked diamonds when i first heard the single. only real complaint is the skits, a.k.a. skips. same with danger doom: the adult swim stuff is not as cool as "found sound" + clever editing. I am definitely liking Sage Francis and Deep Puddle Dynamics. Hooray for quality hip hop... because there's a lot of it I don't really care for.
I'm also very much into Atmosphere. After I saw them at Warped Tour in 2004, I became addicted.

I'm not really sure how i feel about MF Doom, I only have 2 of his albums..His latest mmm food or something like that, I have only listened to it once. The other album i have from him, Has Victor Vaughn written in white along the bottom of the cover. I like most of that album.
Atmosphere is sick, A guy i know let me borrow a Mix Cd he made of Atmosphere..No track listing ..So i'm liking tracks that i have no idea of what the name of them are..I hate that lol.. And what the fuck is with Mobb Deep signing with 50 Cent? It can't be a bad move..It's just..Kinda odd, I'd like to hear them over some Dre's beats..And you know Dre would make some nasty beats for those guy's..

It does take alittle while for large files to attach, Whenever i attach large files..I just step away from the computer or surf until it's done. It really doesn't matter to me how i get them..What i would do is, Compress zip the file/s..That what i always do. Thanks man!

I really liked Atmosphere's first two albums (Lucy Ford and God Loves Ugly), but they kinda went for a more pop sound on Seven's Travels. Headshots (which was a compilation of their stuff between GLU and 7T) is also nice, alot more raw than their latest full album. I'm looking forward to the later release this year, though. And if you like Atmosphere, check out Felt and Felt 2, which is pretty much Atmosphere + Murs (obviously don't bother if you don't like Murs).
And I just picked up the Kanye West CD, and it is bananas. Seriously, I could easily seeing this being classic, the production is just awesome. |

My GF just got Kanye's new album, but she doesn't like it so she gave it to me. The production on this album is sick. He's got some good features too, very dope album.

All the features are: Brandy, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Lupe Fiasco, Jamie Foxx, Paul Wall & GLC, Common, The Game, Jay-Z, Nas, Really Doe, Consequence & Cam'Ron.
Really feelin the track with Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and the track with Nas of course.

Did you end up picking Late Registration up IC3? I just recently picked up Be by Common, and all I can say is damn. I really think Common's album is better than Late Registration even though Kanye was the executive producer for it. Common is just a better lyricist which is what I think makes it better, imo. I've had Be in my CD player in my car for days now, I can honestly listen to that album over and over again and not get tired of it.

Anyone hear heard Foreign Exhange??? The album is amazing. I noticed a few of you said you like Little Brother. This album is so much better than what Little Brother has done, and I like them! See review below. They were on numers "best of 2004" lists, and got very little press... Very worth finding:
