Ryan Adams' COLD ROSES
Any of you picked this new release up? I heard it on Rhapsody, and then had to get a copy. I've only got ROCK N ROLL of his previous records (and liked about half of it), so I can't compare it to the rest of his alt.country stuff.
The release is a bit unusual in that it is 2 CDs with 9 songs on each. I've not timed it, but I suspect the entire program could fit on one CD. For the same money as a single CD, this serves to divide the work as an old vinyl record was divided. I find it easier to digest and appreciate in this format; Nellie McKay did the same thing last year with GET AWAY FROM ME. So long as the set costs the same, I'm in favor of dividing long CDs into two discs. Any thoughts on this?

Haven't heard it yet, but I've heard it's pretty good. I like his older more alt-country sound like off of his Heartbreaker album and I've heard this is more like that stuff. I'd love to hear him reform Whiskeytown and do another album with them, but doubt it will happen.
