epiphone g-400 guitar question
If there are any guitar players here who know a thing or two, i have a question. I was thinking about purchasing a new guitar and was looking at the Epiphone G-400. Im relatively new (been playing about a year) and I dont want to spend a lot of money and i hear it is great guitar and i love the look. I was just wondering if there is a difference in the way the Goth G-400 sounds compared to the standard G-400 or if they are the same except for the color. Any other info or insights you may have are welcome. Thanks

I'm not sure about epiphone but when I was looking for my guitar I noticed that the gothic les paul didn't play nearly as well as the standard. Epiphone makes a pretty good axe but I ultimatley decided to just spend a little more for the Gibson so you may want to think about that too. I would reccomend going to the store, a few times, and playing both of the guitars for a while, getting used to and learning what each has to offer or what's not good about them. The most important thing is that you play them a lot. Good luck!

It is all about feel to you. I thought the gothics looked really nice, but I remember playing it and hating it. I didn't find it as fast of a neck, and it felt like plastic. Most of the SG versions made by Epi are pretty crappy and plastic feeling. If you are going to spend that Kind of Money, I would suggest A Mexi Tele or Strat, or Even a Les Paul. Thats just my thoughts. I have my Les Paul and I adore it. Fastest neck Ever, and its an Epi. Oh, And buy used. Really. You'll never regret it. Used will get you half off.
