Top Selling Albums of all time - Back in Black cracks the top 5
AC/DC Back in Black cracks the top 5 list of top selling albums of all time.
http://billboardradiomonitor.com/rad..._id=1000952569 Take a look at this link to see the list as of approximately 2 years ago (it would have been good if they had updated their list. Oh well, what can you do?): http://www.riaa.com/gp/bestsellers/topalbums.asp Remember these are the top SELLING albums of all time. It is unbelieveable to see how high up on the list some of these albums are compared the really awesome albums that you know should be there. Come on Over - Shania Twain (19million) Bodyguard Soundtrack - Whitney Houston (17million) Cracked Rear View - Hootie and teh Blowfish (16million) It is nice thought to see a good portion of Led Zeppelin's albums on the list. What do you find interesting about this list.

Note: These are the numbers from the RIAA for the U.S.
I found the following for worldwide numbers but I don't know how old this data is (I found it here http://www.everyhit.com/recordalb.html): "Thriller" - Michael Jackson (54 million) "Black In Black" - AC/DC (42m) "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" - The Eagles (41m) "Saturday Night Fever" - (Soundtrack) (40m) "The Bodyguard" - (Soundtrack) (37m) "Bat Out Of Hell" - Meat Loaf (37m) "Dark Side Of The Moon" - Pink Floyd (35m) "Come On Over" - Shania Twain (35m) "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" - The Beatles (32m) "Dirty Dancing" - (Soundtrack) (32m) This list is scary.

I forgot how big Billy Joel truly was.

My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?" |

I don't beleive that song singles were readily available when that album was released.. so you were forced into the entire album
