Guitar it is indeed...

It's a rock song, and a newer one at that. Nothing obscure though.

This is wrong for three reasons:

A) That song is FAR from a rock song.

B) There is no guitar line in that song.

C) It's wrong.

Hint: This song was a big hit in the past 5 years.

Hmm...I was thinking "Bad to the Bone." It fits the line.

Nope.... Bad to the Bone was WAAAAY before 5 years ago.

I will now officially narrow that field to 3 years. A bit hit, and a rock song, in the past 3 years.

Would I be able to guess this if I don't watch MTV and I'm not a fan of contemporary rock?

Hmm..... probably not. Then again, it was being played everywhere...

Narrowing this one down to the past year. Big hit... past year.

Nope.... not LP.

Narrowing the time field again to 2003. It first became a hit in late 2002, and it carried on in 2003.

Continue.

Nope Peetster, nope Tha Sewer.

Hint: The name of the song is a different spelling of the name of one of the "characters" in the Beastie Boys' video for "Sabotage."

Wow. I am old and out of touch. Suffice it to say I've barely heard of Audioslave. Not to mention my inability to name one of their songs. Oh, I am so old...

Try this one: Bum Tss Bum Tss Bum Tss Bum Tss.

Clue 1: It's dance music. Clue 2: I'm taking the piss.

I got here too late... I was thinking the exact song from the beginning.

Also, does anyone else think that the riff in Until It Sleeps by Metallica sounds a lot like that one?

The new iTunes Music Store has a feature that will make this much easier, according to this highly accurate information source:
Quote:
iTunes Music Store now has "You know that song..." search capabilities. For example, searching on "You know that song that goes 'Nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah..." brings up Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head." Searching on "You know that song that's got the girl saying 'I find you very attractive' and 'Would you go to bed with me?' and then there's just some horn music... 'Dah-dah-daaaaah-dut-dah, dut-dah-dut!' You know that song. Dude, yes you do. They were playing that song at that party we went to over at... at, um... you know that dude's name..." brings up Touch and Go's "Would You...?"
