Avatars???

ty

Derwood 04-29-2005 08:02 AM

Personally, I think the "Be Yourself" song sucks asshole, but that's just my opinion. Completely uninspired dreck.

stonegrody 04-29-2005 08:17 AM

I'm somewhere in between. I dig the new song but it does sound a bit uninspired. I'm a big fan so I'm looking forward to the new record regardless. I didn't like Cochise when it first came out and it turned out to be my least favorite song off the album. Hopefully that will be the case again.

Scorps 04-29-2005 10:01 AM

Maybe you shuould give Your Time Has Come a listen!

stonegrody 04-29-2005 11:31 AM

Just did, thanks for the recommend  I love their energy. The Morello/Cornell combo is absolutely great. Okay, I'm more excited about the album now. Thanks Pain Train!

Scorps 04-29-2005 11:45 AM

LOL np man always like to help

Fly 04-30-2005 06:33 AM

i fuckin totally dig this combination..........Soundgarden was big to me.......wicked to see live....never got to see Rage........but tripped on all their stuff.

it works what these guys do together.

J-DaWg 04-30-2005 10:30 AM

not a big fan of Be Yourself, has an overproduced pop feel to it. Your Time has Come, on the other hand, is a solid tune and I can't wait for the new album!

streak_56 04-30-2005 11:19 AM

I will get the new album regardless... but I like Your Time Has Come better than Be Yourself.... the pop princess' will have their single I guess.

keyshawn 04-30-2005 11:32 AM

I actually haven't had the opportunity to listen to audioslave's non-singles on their older album, but I do enjoy their singles.

Be yourself - it's fair. I like instrumentals during the chorus, but the one guitar riff seems like they completely ripped it off of 'wicked games' by chris isaak :hmm:

d3cemberist 04-30-2005 07:22 PM

Heard their new song on the radio a few days ago, sounded great. I'm really pumped about their new album!

Rawrr 05-01-2005 07:50 AM

Yes Avatar! It was late that night haha :p

IanSturgill 05-02-2005 07:22 AM

I love how audioslave blended Rage and Soundgarden. I have also been listening to temple of the dog and mad season lately.

stonegrody 05-02-2005 09:23 AM

Temple of the Dog was great too. Chris Cornell just kicks ass, I think that's the bottom line.

evilbeefchan 05-14-2005 12:19 AM

I can't wait for the new album to come out. I haven't taken their cd out of my changer since I first got it!

Cowbell Thunder 05-14-2005 04:13 PM

One of the greatest regrets I have is passing up the opertunity to see their show in Chicago (I'm around the northern suburbs). I bought their self-titled album about two months ago, and it is probably the most played CD for 2005 thus far in my year. I am typically a 60's or 70's rock and roll guy (Stones, Zep, Faces, etc), but this band opened my eyes to a lot of Rage Against the Machine I would have normally dismissed. I would probably recommend anyone to check out Audioslave. I took the recommendation, and I turned out liking every song on the album.

You should try Soundgarden Chris's old band :D

Harry Cox 05-17-2005 07:11 AM

I love Audioslave and I've heard 3 songs off the new album and they are incredible. They are diverse, kick ass rock and roll songs. Thank God for Audioslave.

Check out the whole album here.

Harry Cox 05-17-2005 02:00 PM

"Doesn't Remind Me" is one of the best songs I've heard in many years.

Rawrr 05-17-2005 05:53 PM

It is a pretty good CD.. it isn't as hard (i guess) as there first but it is a good sophomore album!

Arroe 05-18-2005 10:08 PM

oh god i am listening to their CD on myspace I am really digging some of the stuff, right now I am liking the title track "Out of Exile" a lot.

Scorps 05-19-2005 10:09 AM

I listen to the whole thing yesterday love it:D

buyer for sure!

flamingdog 05-19-2005 01:38 PM

Rage still sound awesome to me, hardly dated a day. Audioslave rock, sure, but there's something really kinda... clean about em.

Anyone here ever dig on Brad?

I have "Interiors" by Brad. Great album.

(if that's what you're referring to)

Stone Gossard is one my fav guitarists. Hence my name...

flamingdog 05-20-2005 10:34 AM

I think once I get that, my 90s supergroup collection is complete, having obtained Mad Season, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and Velvet Revolver... Am I missing any?

I think you got them all

Cardinal Syn 05-27-2005 02:45 PM

I picked it up the day it came out. I have to say its a awsome 2nd album for these guys!

I find it to be a better blend this time around. Has some great Rage solo's and awsome lyrical voice of soundgarden mixed in nice and sweet. I give it 4 stars outa 5! Just cause i miss Zack :<

Hope you all are enjoying it.

Wulf_Hunter 05-31-2005 05:47 PM

Audioslave is really starting to grab me. Been listening to them for a few months. I gotta say, one of the better bands to come out in long time. It's about damn time!!

Just wish I would've known about the detroit show sooner :(

Harry Cox 06-04-2005 07:37 AM

"Yesterday To Tomorrow", "Heaven's Dead" & "Dandelion" are simply amazing songs. I love the diversity. RATM and Soundgarden were great, but too one-dimensional.

Locobot 06-04-2005 11:19 AM

I don't expect them to be band too much longer judging by the amount of eye rollling that Chris Cornell was doing during their recent trip to Cuba. Tom Morello does not seem like a fun person to be in a band with.

When is Zack going to resurface?

Solo stuff I heard was do out this year, but I really don't know and/or care.

Tusko 06-05-2005 08:21 PM

i think they are phenomenally boring, produced and predictable band in a LONG time.

every solo effort i've heard from zack has blown anything audioslave has ever done out of the water. and is on par, and sometimes better than RATM

my guess as to why you would think that would be that audioslave seems atleast in my ears as something cornell has taken a hold of and grasped by the balls all the other members. You can tell by every once in a while there being morello doing some rage like playing but for the most part, i believe this is somewhat the direction that soundgarden would of went a few years down the road. which isnt entirely bad. (i listen to atleast 1 soundgarden album a day personally).
audioslave is ok when you are travelling and its on the radio. give me the two original bands together anyday though.

Tusko 06-06-2005 05:43 PM

cornell's voice is strained and weak.

the rhythm section has none of the spark and groove they used to. sure brad was never a fantastic drummer, but he was always at least more creative than these songs. and tim, what happened to his funk? root note. root note. root note.

and let's not even start on tom. what used to be simple, melodic, but percussive playing has turned into boring, predictable and re-used. I used to drool, wondering what his nextwacky solo would sould like, but every audioslave song(with the exception of like a stone) was something heard before. He can't write catchy riffs anymore.

i heard a few demos and leaked stuff when they were "civilian", and it was quite a bit better than anything they've released. much better name too.

soccerchamp76 06-28-2005 06:15 PM

"Doesn't Remind Me" has become my new favorite song.

But for more classic rockish sound, go for their last two albums (Superunknown and Down on the Upside). Down on the Upside is by far my favourite and the most like classic rock, and as you go earlier, they get more and more grungy (ick ;) ).

skinnymofo 06-29-2005 06:14 AM

Superunknown is one of the most fantastic albums ever made
down on the upside is pretty good too but not quite as good but i think a like badmotorfinger better, much more brutal.
