Strange craving for Greek music
I dunno, but after listening to all of this rap and trashy old 80's music (by trashy I mean awesome), I really want to get back to my roots and listen to some instrumental Greek music.
It's been a long time since I've heard any good Greek music. I'll have to ask my dad for his Greek CD collection that he has stashed away somewhere and make some copies or just listen to them. Either way, anyone have any suggestions of music I can look out for? I'm really looking for instrumental mixed with a bit of lyrics. I personally prefer male singers for some reason. Nothing like hearing the good old Bouzouki pwn. Last edited by MikeSty; 04-21-2005 at 02:24 PM.. Reason: whoops.. hit the submit apparently |

Iannis Xenakis- it's the most intense music you'll ever hear. I can't name a particular work, but look for him. He's still a living composer, and he's very modern. It's hard to describe without hearing it-look for a work he did for electrified string quartet. In that same direction, check out George Crumb's Black Angels.
