I recently heard about them from a friend, and have since bought MANY of his/their albums - yes - awesome stuff - I wish I'd discovered them 15 years ago.
Another band that's of a similar(ish) ilk is Sly and the Family Stone - which I've just recently started listening to. |

I really like both Funkadelic and The Parliament and they are rather different (under the umbrella of funk music, at least). Eddie Hazel has to be one of the most overlooked guitarists of all time. As short as it is, "Standing On the Verge of Getting It On" is an amazing album showcasing Eddie at his peak.

I've only got their "Greatest Funkin' Hits" but I listen to it quite a bit.
Years ago, whenever we'd have a house party, Flashlight was mandatory listening after we'd had plenty to drink. You cant imagine the amout of weird looks we'd get playing that and "dancing" if you can even call it that. My friends and I were terrible dancers. Good thing it was our party. |

I love Funkadelic!!!! It's "music to clean your shit by"
The best is Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts on Standing On The Verge... (I saw a fatal car accident while listening to it...it's the song I'd want to "check-out" to) I need some Parliament CD's. Any suggestions?
