Great stuff for all of the electronic heads out there, but if you're into electronic music, then you probably already know Tricky. Enjoy!

Sweet. Downloading now.

I may have heard of DJ Trickster before, but I'm not too familiar with him. Does he stick to any particular subgenres?

This is pretty much a happy-hardcore set, but i've heard him spin all sorts of stuff under the alias Tricky.

jvwgtr 02-17-2005 01:14 PM

I'm a big Tricky fan, but had no idea he was using the alias DJ Trickster...I need to keep up on these things. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, i'm definately more into his stuff under the name Tricky, but cat has talent no matter what he's dropping.

anleja 02-17-2005 09:25 PM

um... when you say Tricky, are you talking about the guy who used to be in Massive Attack? Or someone else?

Jadey 02-17-2005 10:10 PM

"Adrian Thaws a.k.a Tricky is a native of Bristol & emerged in the late eighties as part of The Wild Bunch, who then morphed into Massive Attack..."

" Rumor has it DJ Trickster (aka Rick Taylor) got his name playing "tricks" on other DJs in order to hear his favorite Factory & Creation Records artists."

To the best of my knowledge they are two seperate people. Tricky (Adrian Thaws) is often referred to as "The Trickster" so that may add to the confusion. Though I guess is could be possible I am mistaken.

Well, at the very least the website reported that it was in fact Tricky spinning. I have no way of verifying that, but since it was the only information avaliable, it's what i posted.

mazagmot 02-18-2005 07:58 AM

I like some of the other stuff that the site links to, too. Sweet find.

Ganguro 02-18-2005 08:12 AM

yeah, honestl;y, im all for diversifying, but i cant see TRICKY spinning a happy hardcore set. orrrrr...not talking over the entire damn song.

02-18-2005 09:09 AM

I've been looking, i cant find anything to prove or disprove if they are the same person or not. Anybody?

Jadey 02-19-2005 01:39 PM

Me either. Becuase of this thread I've been looking too. I didn't *think* they are the same, but I'm not postitive. It does look like there are 2 different DJ's in the world using the name "DJ Trickster" One Is out of the US (in the midwest) and the other is out of Germany.

Cylvre 02-19-2005 03:32 PM

I've Blue Lines playing right now, gotta love Massive Attack.

Personally I've never heard of Tricky using DJ Trickster as a moniker...
