This is a great list, keep them coming. Only disc I really love that I haven't seen pop up yet is Xzibits "At the speed of life." Yeah the rest of what he's put out has been pretty weak, that is a great realease.

Ya At the speed of life is sick, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz and Restless can compete with xzibits first i think.

Go-Bots: I'm listening to Nine's "Cloud 9" right now, remembered I had that disc when you mentioned it and it's been in heavy rotation since. Good shit...

Nice work by J-woody to remember Digital Underground's "Sex Packets", I don't think I let that fucking cd go more than 10 feet from my side when I was a Freshman in high school...

Anybody catch a sneak preview of the new Sage Francis album yet? I think it drops on 02/08/05...

About what I would list except I would make a couple changes:

De La Soul: 3 Feet High and Rising
Beastie Boys: Paul's Boutique

both are much better albums than the ones you have listed... but that might be just me...

I'll second that, RJD2's Deadringer just kicks ass all over the place.

Nobody's going to mention Tricky or Massive Attack? I guess the charge might be made that they're more trip than hip hop, but I dig it all the same, and they've got a similar style to DJ Shadow and RJD2.

Tricky's Maxinquaye and Massive Attack's Protection are some great albums.

Wow, Sleepyjack, I just ripped 5 or 6 songs off of Prefuse 73's "One Word Extinguisher" that are ridiculously smooth. Thank you sir...

Watch out my home doggs in Chi-Town these next few years, especially the D.O.D. (formerly Do or Die) album coming out on February 1st...

R-Dubb,
The new Do Or Die has its moments, but a bit more of a mainstream feel to it compared to their earlier albums. This was supposed to be their breakthrough, more radio friendly album, and it's a bit of a detriment. Still at least 6 or 7 hot tracks though, which is rare for new releases on record store shelves these days. No denying the Kanye produced single "Higher", which may be my favorite hip-hop song in the last couple of years. Not a "ruff rugged and raw" track, just smooth as fuck with a ridiculous Teddy Pendergrass sample. I recommend it as a must download for all of you guys...

Im pretty much a fan of everything that has been listed so far - all great albums. A few of my favorites I dont think have been mentioned:

DMX - Its Dark and Hell is Hot (Mediocre follow-ups and shitty movies aside ((Belly is cool)), this is an incredible hardcore breakout album)
Outkast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
The L.O.X. - We Are the Streets
Method Man and Redman - Blackout
Westside Connection - Bow Down
Warren G - Regulate...G Funk Era
Busta Rhymes - The Coming, Extinction Level Event
50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin (Yeah, Yeah... Its played out and really mainstream but I would be lying if I said I didnt like every song on that disc)

Oh yeah and great call to whoever mentioned Camp Lo...Uptown Saturday Night is really fresh.
