Chevelle Live 12-17
Chevelle played in Chicago Friday night. The show sold out in 5 mintutes but the rock station here Q101 broadcast it live on the air commercial free. I only was able to catch a little bit of it and they sounded pretty good. The vocals weren't exactly always in tune with the music or the background vocals but it wasn't too horrible. They sounded like they put on an exciting show I wish I could have gone. I guess the drummer trashed the set all over the stage at the end, which I never understood why drummers did but whatever. That's the only experience I've had listening to them live. I have their CDs and I love them all and I'm getting their dvd for x-mas. Has anyone here heard or seen them live or have the dvd? How are they?

Dammit!! I missed them again! I wanted to see them at Tower for the release of the new album, but I missed that. I wanted to see them at 94.7 downtown, missed that. And now this. Damn, I have no luck!

that is awesome of the radio station to do that. i wonder if chevelle had to pay for that or if it was an idea that the station came up with on their own. it's hard to imagine a station stopping their normal playlist and ad spots to broadcast a concert that would appeal to the minority of their listening audience.

That's really disappointing because I love their cds. I've been listening to This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In) everyday at least once. I think their music is really energy filled and just rocks hard. I guess I'll see when I get their dvd whether or not they really suck live.
