A Perfect Circle's album "Emotive"
Wow this is awful trash.
Maynard went from powerful imagery in his songs with Tool and the first two APC albums, to covering Marvin Gaye songs. What.. the.. fuck? I'm just glad I didn't blow $15 on this. |
Haven't heard it, but i agree with you on principle.
|
How's the Costello song? That's all I'm really interested in.
|
i disagree
its different sure, but just because the covers dont sound like the original at all in most cases doesnt mean they're bad. i like imagine the most though, which is imho the of the best cover versions in the history of music (together with tori amos - smells like teen spirit, as i already stated in another thread) i do like the other APC albums more, but emotive is far from "trash" i like APC for their originality, which they even seem to be able to hold up when they do covers |
I've only heard the Imagine cover. It was okay but nothing great. He could have done a lot more with it I think. They should have just focused their entire energy to a new APC album. I'm not buying Emotive though - unless I get a copy off of someone else.

HUH? There is another A Perfect Circle album? Shit, I need to get it. But fuck, MJK needs to ditch APC for a while and put out a Tool album.
|
APC always seemed a tad too pretentious for my liking, so when I heard they'd covered "imagine" I had to laugh. I won't be bothering with this release.

I started another thread here a couple days ago: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=73432

I've only heard the "Imagine" single. I personally like it although I'm not sure the original intent of the song was supposed to be that sad, but it makes sense how they did it.
Is there a leak of the album? I am really anxious to hear the rest of it. |
Nevermind that last part, I just read the other thread. [smacks forhead].
