Video for 1985-Bowling for Soup--Must see for children of the 80's
http://www.bowlingforsoup.com
They have a video for 1985....which corny or not is a song dear to my heart hehehe I was 17 in 1985 and this brings back a lot of memories hehehe but the video, to me, is just the funniest thing I've seen in awhile ok, so maybe Im insane....but I just CANT be the only one that likes it  |
Shani, I'm with you on that. That is a good song that hits close to me too. I was 17 in 1985 too, well, in December I turned 17.
I tried the video link but it was all distorted images with sudden bursts of music. I'll try to catch it on MTV. |
I found that if I used the media player link I had to pick the lo version to get it to play right even though Im on high speed....even then im on broadband
|
tbh i hate the song/video, but it doesnt have a lot of meaning to me, always thought bowling for soup where more aiming for the teen demographic, shows what i know :D

not a fan of the pop punk bands like this, but the song lyrics and video are pretty funny. Robert Palmer's hot model videos, George Michael's Faith video and Poison were all actually more from around '87, but I guess '85 rhymes with more stuff than '87.

I'm with you Shanifaye. I love the song as well. The video is pretty cool, but I prefer just to hear the song. These guys are great fun and just make music that makes you smile. (I know, that sounds gay)

I was 2 in 1985

Wow did that take me back to High School :) I also was 17 in 85.
I have to admit, the Palmer video redo was very disturbing :) - Noel |
I saw that video the other night, and loved it. I was sitting there, and explaining each part to my friends who have no 80s clue at all, fun stuff.
on a broader scale, I've been enjoying these guys for a while now, I'm not usually into their style, but they are having too much fun for me not to enjoy them. Anybody who likes them at all, should try to see their video for 'Punk Rock 101', it's sweet. |
I was 22 in '85. That video hit me right between the eyes.
The singer sounds like 'Wierd' Al. Thought it was one of his parodies at first. |
I was 16 years old and singing in my first hair band in 1985. man oh man........

This is the first I've heard of this song.. thanks very much! The car dance caught me completely by surprise. If you like this song, also check out "Van Halen" by Nerf Herder.
I'm pretty sure I saw these guys, back in about 1995 or so. They were opening for Bim Skala Bim, and also on the bill were the Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Reel Big Fish, and neither of them had received any radio play yet. When I've told that to people, I always ended with "...and Bowling for Soup, who were never heard from again." Guess that isn't true anymore. EDIT: Make that "Let's Go Bowling", not "Bowling for Soup". Don't ask what I was doing back in this thread. |
