Best Driving Music
I'm going on a small road trip in a little while and it made me think of what music I should bring with me. So I wanted to know what everyone here listens to when they're driving. What makes you want to drive really fast or keeps you awake at night? What are some of the best albums to play with the windows down?
A few of my choices are: Springsteen- Born to Run Minor Threat The Clash- London Calling (Great album with lots of different sounds, plus it's really long.) |

Warning: May make you exceed the speed limit!

I've always thought that Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight" was the ultimate, driving at night while smoking a cigarette, driving song.

Techno is pretty good for driving at night. Paul Oakenfold's Tranceport CD is pretty basic, but gets the job done.
Sometimes if I'm cruising down the freeways here in ATL late at night, I'll break out the trance. All of this music will keep you awake, but it also will probably want to make you drive faster too, so watch that speed. |

I've actually heard somewhere that they did and study, and found the most dangerous song to drive to is Ride of the Valkyries. I think they found it causes the driver to feel indestructible or something like that.
Its fun! lol

Back when it was legal for me to drive, I would mainly listen to Industrial, extremely loud, with the windows down. I would FORCE my music on other people. The side effect of this, of course is that I would speed all the time. And thus why I cannot drive anymore.

Any classic Stones album should do.
If you want to be fairly mellow but stay awake late at night, think Motown. Martha Reeves, Smokey Robinson, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, all those. They're not that intense, but they've definitely got the beat and are good to sing along with. |

the queen of the damned soundtrack, Korn and Disturbed when your want to drive fast.
And if you feel a little down, Nickelback (not the latest album, The Long Road) and The Poets of the Fall-Late Goodbye
