So I picked up KEANE yesterday for $9.99...
Not a bad album. I was a lil dissapointed somewhere towards the middle or the end of the album. Started straying away from the nice melodies in the begining in exchange for some really wierd sounds. It's not something I can listen to all the way through without wanting to skip a track. Of course I've only given it 1 full listen through so who knows it could grow on me if I give it a chance. Bedshaped is definitely the stand out track on the album...it's the last one. It's a very beautiful song. Judging from the customer reviews on CDnow.com it seems people think they sound a little like old Radiohead. I dunno about that maybe a little. Theres no guitarist for the band so most of the sounds are strictly piano and drum based, with a few techno like sounds that probably came from a synthesiser or something. Theres 3 men in the band. The pianist also plays bass. Tom Chaplin has a really great voice.....crazy range. So anyone else heard/like this band. I heard the single "Somewhere Only We Know" on VH1 and liked it so much I decided to check em out. Went to FYE, listened to the samples all the way through and thought ah what the hell sounds pretty good for 10 bucks so I picked it up. I also checked out the new Starsailor album Sounds like it's even better than the first one. Well thats all I guess. Asta!!

I've only heard "Somewhere Only We Know." I like it, but it doesn't strike me as original enough to buy the whole thing. I may change my mind at some point.
As for Starsailor, I bought that album on the strength of "Some Of Us" and "Music Was Saved." I'm happy I did. There are a whole bunch of amazing tracks on there. I really like "Born Again."

I heard Everybody's Changing on radio and it reminded me of Radiohead and Coldplay which are two favourites of mine. I got the whole album as mp3's but the other tracks haven't yet made me want to buy it. But maybe I still need a few more listens before judging.

They're pretty good. 2 great songs on the album....the rest become sort of an aquired taste. The new Starsailor sounds really great. I loved the last album I pretty much HAD to get it after I heard She Just Wept....and as I said this one sounds like it might even be better than Love Is Here.
