I have a confession (electronica related)
 

As much flack as I am going to get for it, I have a confession.

I like happy hardcore/trancecore. I love the insane BPM and the high almost anthem like melodies. I also like hard house and trance, but when I'm in the mood nothing can pump me up like some anabolic frolic or other happy hardcore.

I am not a 'candy raver' and I have never even been to a rave.

Its the high overiding melodies. Is there a genere (sp?) that is anthem like? When listening to some hardcore that I really like, its the dominant higher pitched melody that really gets me going. When paired with a very strong base line I can't help but be in a better mood

I feel like this is HHCA (Happy Hardcore Annoymous). Well in that case

"my name is Steve and I like happy hardcore"

any recommendations?

there are a couple of genres.. Anthem Trance and Peak Hour are the two mostly used for that type of electronica. I like some hard house..but I'm more into Breaks, DNB, and Tribal. that's what I like to spin anyway.. I like some trance..but Anthem Trance makes me cringe..but hey different strokes for different folks right? :D Don't worry about the "candy kid" stereotype..there are a couple more requirements other than just listening to Anthem Trance before you can be called that! Check out DJ Irene..she's the queen of Hard House and her newer stuff is more "anthem" like so you should like it

I really like DJ Irene, Bad Boy Bill, and DJ Sharkey. They are really great. What else do you guys have?

Anabolic Frolic's Happy2bHardcore volumes are great. You mentioned anabolic frolic before, so you probably already know of these.

I like speedbass. it's like the anti-happyhardcore.

though, I used to listen to ALOT of happyhardcore heh... the cheesy 80's remixes are the BEST!

try Digital Bill you might like that as well...when my mind is functioning and I think of some others I'll let you know
