69 Love Songs -- The Magnetic Fields
Future Bible Heroes
The 6ths Gothic Archies Have you been here...? Not for everyone, but the people who love them are usually people who have my admiration and respect immediately. Do you have a band like this? My other one is the Flaming Lips. |

The only stars there really are
were shining in your eyes There is no sun except the one that never shone on other guys The moon to whom the poets croon has given up and died Astronomy will have to be revised

I happen to be listening to their latest, i, right now actually. It's pretty amazing.
"Growing older is killing a child who laughed and smiled at anything." Stephin Merritt's a great songwriter, a lot of jems like this. 69 Love Songs aint' too bad either.

We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us. --Charles Bukowski |

I love their new album. I love all Stephin Merritt's work. I almost bought "Pieces of April" today. Great movie, with a Magnetic Fields soundtrack. There's one new song on it, "On April Day." It's a beautiful song, lyrics and melody, as always... |
