Cantina Flys (messengers of the Rock 'n Roll Gods?? check it out)
As I'm bored here at work today with not a whole lot to do, I decided to scour the net for what's new in music. Being from Texas, I started looking through entertainment sections in local rags of a few cities, i.e. Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso, etc. to see about any write-ups of any up and coming bands locally.
Anyways, long story short, I stumbled across a write up of this band's Bio, and it was amusing enough to make me want to stay a bit at their site and look around. It made me chuckle because only about 2 weeks ago, there was a write up in the Houston Chronicle about what's popular in "Rock/Alternative Rock" or whatever they call it nowadays and how most of it is gloomy/depressing. It seems as though these guys feel the same way. Anyway, check out the site, read the bio, it's amusing, they even have a download of one of their songs and streams of others, it's actually pretty good stuff. It looks like the site just went live pretty recently cause there's few parts "still under construction", so it does have an amateurish feel to it, but the bulk of it is there and works. If you like it post a reply/spread the word, I'm curious as to what others besides myself think. These guys look like some good ole Mexicans from El Paso, being that I was born there, I'm always down to help support some fellow Chicanos in any efforts. On a sidenote, it's amazing how much time I spent this morning doing nothing. I'm just glad I have a job, that from time to time, lets me do absolutely nothing almost all day, get paid for it, and not get fired. Oh yeah, the site: Cantina Flys Homepage |
