Non-Stereotypical Romantic Music
This is kind of strange but what band do you listen to when you're trying to get into the mood that isn't your stereotypical romantic band or music?
Let me explain. The Deftones are one of the most romantic bands ever. I know this sounds strange but it's true. I've gotten more pussy while listening to them then any other band. It's not the type of music that you think of when trying to get laid but for some reason all that screaming and hard guitar seem work. To tell you the truth all that smooth R&B shit like Usher and who the fuck ever else annoy the shit out of me. I don't find it romantic at all. It gets me in the mood to shoot someone more then it want to fuck someone. Okay... so name some of your non-stereotypical romantic bands.

yup, deftones is definitely it.. with all the shit i'm listenin', having an "alternative" to all the heavy shit im into right now (cannibal, cof, slayer.. etc..), "digital bath" sets my mood right.. kinda surreal, laid back, depressing.. hehe..

I love the last track on Poison the Well's 2nd album. It seems like a love song of sorts. In Pieces is good stuff, Armsbendback, Autechre (Amber), Bloodhound Gang, Boards of Canada, Deftones' Adrenaline is a good one too, From Autumn to Ashes (1st album), and skycamefalling are some of my atypical favorites.

the less lyrics the better...words get in the way as ah commence to getting mah swerve on.
it could be the greatest groove in the world playing, but as soon as I hear another voice besides me and my amore... the swerve kicks down a notch. vocals need to be secondary almost an afterthought. For making love- Enya, Pink Floyd For fucking- smokin' blues with backbone a la SRVaughn For masturbation-The Beasty Boys

E-Nomine works for me..not what I would call "romantic" but it MOST DEFINATELY gets me in the mood.
for those who dont recognize the name they are a german band that does that sound like demonic choir songs (thats the best way I know how to explain it) like music for the Omen movies

I prefer a lot of big Beat/Breakbeat type of stuff like Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Basement Jaxx, Propellerheads, Cirrus, etc.
HOWEVER,... That doesn't seem to work as well as a little "trip-hop". Some Tricky, Portishead, Massive Attack, Lamb, The Verbrilli Sound (Don Verbrilli), etc. It's kinda mellow and relaxing, but has a beat. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan and would be lying if "Animals" or "WYWH" hadn't made thier way into the CD Player at certain points. Never gone with the Deftones, but since someone mentioned "Passenger" I do remember going with some TOOL on more than one occasion. |
