The Punkles
I don't know how many people have heard of them, but I saw a couple of punk threads pop up and I figured I'd mention them for the benefit of some people who like the stuff. I stumbled upon them accidentally while illegally pirating music (I'm a bad person, I know) and they're kind of good. Pretty much, it's a German punk band that started a Beatles cover band side project. They cover various Beatles songs, sometimes morphing them with classic punk riffs (I remember them using the intro of "Holiday in the Sun" on one of the tracks, but I forget which). Not as groundbreaking as Me First and the Gimme Gimmes as far as punk cover bands go, but worth a listen to anyone who likes punk or the Beatles. From what I've listened to thus far, their newer CD, Pistol (a rather obvious cross of Beatles CD title Revolver and the fact the Sex Pistols are a famous punk band) is their more interesting, with covers of "I am the Walrus" and "While my guitar gently weeps" just to name a few.
