I have no idea what pop psychology is. I believe what I believe because I think it's reasonable, not because other people do. I have nowhere to be exposed to pop psychology.

I read disscussion forums beacuse I want to learn something new, see a new perspective or get insight from someone else. It is completely unacceptable to post in a disscussion forum and then simply ignore and dismiss posters who have taken the time to read what you have written and responded back to you. It shows no respect to the people who's opinons you have asked for.

Lets have a discussion about why you feel the need to express hate? why do you admit your wrong but continue to post that its okay because thats the 'way I feel' It is not okay, you are entitled to do it but it does not mean it is acceptable.

I went back and reread everything I posted. Yea, I do alot of generalizing, exaggerating and such. Alot of people say things they regret. I'm not saying I regret saying it, but I could have discussed it in a more intelligent constructive manner. I never attack anyone though, the way people attack me in response to my opinions, the way filtherthon attacks other people in this thread for misunderstanding him. I did respond to people who responded to me.

Why is it neccessary to express hate? We are social creatures. Expression is comforting, it connects us to other people. If I feel strongly about something it feels good to talk about it to someone else whether they agree with it or disagree with it.

I admit I'm "wrong" because hating rap serves no purpose. I do feel it is ok to continue hating rap, because since when is it not ok to dislike something and talk to other people about it. Yea it's a contradiction that illustrates the grand contradition of intellect vs. emotion, super ego vs. id. Don't tell me my opinions about something aren't acceptable. It's not like I'm lynching rappers or anything. I'm posting that I don't like rap on a messageboard.

I post on message boards sometimes to get things off my chest. It's natural. Why is your reason for being here any more righteous than mine. I'm not hurting anybody or helping anybody, but then neither are you.

I'm still missing the point I think. Why is it irrational? You have to start with the basics here. What is rational, then why is it irrational? Usually mocking somebody isn't the best way to get them to listen to what you are trying to say. I mean why would I even bother to read such childishness. Hate is irrational because it is based on flawed logic. It is always selective (i hate things about object A that i really don't mind in object B), and is always used to make the hater feel superior to the hated. It serves no pupose other than to act as an emotional band-aid.
