Graduation Video
My high school is going to have a graduation video for its grads and I'd be lying to say we have a whole film crew working on it. It's really my boyfriend and myself putting it together for the scrutiny of 200 others. There's nothing fancy about it and there isn't a lot of time to put it together, so what is lacking in visual technicalities, I want to make up in having a good and suitable soundtrack, this is where I'm at the mercy of the tfp community.
I need some good songs. Contemporary like Weezer is nice, oldies like ACDC is ok too [I seem to be very rock/alt. concentrated atm, so some r&b style songs would also be welcomed]. What I need most is nice tunes with no vocals. Since I'm a product of the MTV culture...well you can imagine how my music taste may be. O any recently recorded French songs are also appreciated [our school has a French Immersion class] Please nothing cheesy like Vitamin C or something. Ugh. So. Please demonstrate your musical superiority here. Your recommendation may just be played for 200 upstanding young students on a most important evening that is their graduation!... ![]()

Maybe Santana? He has lots of songs, old and new, with no lyrics.
Sounds like you have quite a task ahead of you. Good luck! (hey, you aren't rolling your eyes at the thought of how important your graduation is are you? Shame! Actually, my graduation sucked. My cap blew off in the wind right when I accepted my diploma. It was like an omen.) Also, as far as French, the band Air has lots of French songs, considering they are French. Very modern sounding music. |

Whoa. It's scary to suddenly wake up and realize that AC/DC is already filed under the "Oldies" category...
I've no recommendations, really, nothing that you'd like, anyway. But I was wondering...don't you need some sort of broadcasting licenses for each song from the copyright proprietors?

May be too classic-rock oriented for your tape, but:
Allman Brothers - Jessica (instrumental) Edgar Winter Group - Frankenstein (instrumental) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone
