The very end of "Tangled Up in Blue" by Bob Dylan, he solos on the harmonica and it's just amazing, maybe even better than the part before with words. Same case with "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry", the very end where they sort of go loose is just incredible. The very end of "Standing in the Doorway" and "Til I Fell in Love With You" are equally great at the very end just as it fades out. Same with "Hurricane".

Wow..when I saw this thread "Layla" was the first song to come to mind. I like the transition and the piano part that ends the song.

I also like the middle part of the Beatles' "You Never Give Me Your Money", with the honky-tonk piano.

The beginning half plus the transition of Elton John's "Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" is one of my favorites. The whole song is excellent, actually.

And of course the guitar solo on Freebird.

EVERY SINGLE PART of Indian Poker pt. 3 by Brainiac.... the sounds that it makes before the lyrics are just haunting and awesome, you feel them in your chest and in your spine, it's crazy... and the lyrical section is also AAAAAAAAAWESOME. Damn... I love that song. RIP Tim Thomas :(

-> The opening to Toni Braxton's Spanish Guitar and pretty much the rest of the song when the guitar plays softly during the non-vocal parts
-> Unbreak My Heart from Toni which has a similar sounding guitar in the opening and background and the point that sticks in my mind - 3:56 to 4:02 where she hold the note for six seconds. Not quite as long in the spanish version but almost as long there too.
-> Seven Come Eleven as played by Benny Goodman and company. The recording I have in mind is 8:44 or thereabouts and the opening is a wonderful slow buildup started by the drums that really gets roaring by the end.

The instrumental outro to "Sir Psycho Sexy" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The whole song is great, but the ending always takes me by surprise.

The rhythm parts in NIN Ringfinger have me hooked right now.

My favorite song part is the clean guitar interlude during "To Live is To Die" starting at 5:02 going up to about 6:45 after the distortion kickes in again. The solo in that part is so simple but it's just perfect. It's also the only time you ever hear the bass in the album.

NIB-the entire bass line but especially the begining just brings a tear to my eye. its more noticeable in the primus version rather than the sabbath version but god damn its just plain beautiful.

the bass line in Mr Krinkle by Primus is also pretty bad ass where he screeches a violin thing ( i ferget what its called) over the string. I saw them play this song live and Les had a stick with 1 bass string on it with a tightener on the top and one on the bottom that he worked with his foot. it was mighty excellent.

On the New Anthrax album they have a song called Refused to Be Denied the guitar riff Scott Ian plays is both heavy and melodic

'The Battle' from the Gladiator Sountrack- I really like the whole song, but the climax which then fades away and then builds back up really gets me every time.

The end of Yes - Gates of Delerium when Howe plays a simply breathtakingly beautiful solo while using his volume pedal.

I also love the end of Mike Oldfield's "Ommadawn (part 2)" when the song goes into a very simple theme where Oldfield sings about the wonderful feeling of just appreciating the small things in life. The chorus is eventually backed up by a childrens voices, which makes it sound like a childrens song. The contrast between this theme and the other 35 minutes of the album, which consist of completely instrumental themes, is so huge that it puts the you soundly back on earth after traveling through all the strange dimensions the album carries you through.

In Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song: where he goes "...Valhalla I am coming-ing-ing-ing" and "...we are your overlor-ooh-ooh-ords." He's not even bothering to fill those extra syllables with words. How cool is that??

Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror (any live version), The guitar buildup before the last verse where Eddie starts screaming, "Saw things (4x) clearer once you were in my rearviewmirror" and the way he carries the line, "Finally the shades are raised".

Yes I did and although it may be the only remotely cool part of that song, it's really not a cool drumfill. It only has the illusion of being cool because the rest of the song sucks so much. Maybe, just maybe it could be worthy of being on the list but it belongs somewhere in the 40-50's.

If any drum fill belongs in there it should be the double bass fill in "Angel of Death" by Slayer.

Styx- "Suite Madam Blue" right after the synthesizer solo when the kick ass guitar comes in, Has always been my favorite climax of a song. Always played very loud.
