Any Drum and Bass (DNB) Fans?

Just checkin if ther are any fellow DNB heads here?

What are you feelin at the moment (artists, tracks, mixes)?
I'm basicly a mix junky. I love to collect dj sets.
I appreciate all types of dnb (depends on my mood).
Some DJs / artists I dig are bailey, high contrast, raiden, capital j, dara, hive, keaton, etc.

Not really a 'fan'... but can just say that went to a DnB night few month back at local club, just because we had nothing better to do at the time, and really enjoyed it, opened my eyes a bit to a genre of music had never really considered previously...

I quiet like D'n'B.. not really up to the date with the scene but )EIB( are/were pretty cool.

As well as this New Zealand DnB act called Concord Dawn, which I highly recommend.

Myself, not really a DnB fan, altho a friend of mine has a tape of this Jamacian smooth jazzy type, heavy bass shit that is perfect for smoking spliffs too. He told me the type of music, but I don't remember. Someone help.

yah, there's been a few threads on this topic, do a search.. you'll find lots of like-minded folks =)

I live in Seattle, and there's a great live DnB act out of here called Siamese. I think their website is http://www.siamesednb.com ?
and I mean, ALL LIVE... actual drum set, real bass, keyboards & turntablism on the fly... they are INCREDIBLE and have been gaining alot of noteriety.. check them out before they become the next big trend ;)

that is all..
/end ramble

Gah, I tried to listen to some of the bands mentioned, it all seems to spastic to me. Someone hook me up with something more mellow, maybe it is cause i am a bit drunk now, but no matter. Help!

usualsuspect 02-19-2004 06:29 AM

Most of the artists listed in this thread aren't live bands, but rather producers or djs. Anyway for more mellow/groovey drum and bass try listening to

LTJ Bukem,
Big Bud,
Mathematics,
High Contrast,
Fabio,
Marcus Intalex,
Calibre,
Matrix

I've been geting more and more into D & B and jungle recently. The underground US scene has some amazing music pouring out of it. Check out:

Sound Murderer
Remarc

add:
London Elektricity
Mokoto
Architex
Exile (although he does *hard* stuff too)
Dagga
Danny C

I'm a drum and bass junkie. I've been playing it for about a year and a half. I usually stick to the harder/tech stuff. Although I do play lighter/jazz sets on the occasion.

right now I'm liking the new Evol Intent -- 7 angels with 7 plagues -- Barcode
also the new Subwave.

Labels I watch: Renegade Hardware, Gain, Project Human, Hospital, Moving Shadow, Commercial Suicide, Penetration, Freak, Outbreak, Rewind

Artists I watch: Evol Intent, Technical Itch, Klute, D.Kay, Concord Dawn, Subwave, Karl K, London Elektricity, Kaos, The Militia, Dom and Roland, Soundmurderer & SK1, Total Science, Dylan, Raiden

DJ's/Performance I watch: Bailey, SS, Twisted Individual, Zinc, Shy FX, The Enemy (Evol Intent), Cause4Concern, General Malice, Jae Kennedy, LTJ Bukem

I listen to more than *just* this stuff. but this is most of what I always keep an eye out for.
