How awesome is your state?
The other day it dawned upon me...other than the obvious states New York and California...Ohio has given birth to more awesome bands than any other state I can think of.
Devo Guided By Voices the New Bomb Turks Brainiac Pere Ubu Rocket From the Tombs the Dead Boys the Afghan Whigs Swearing At Motorists the Breeders Lou Barlow the Ohio Players the Electric Eels the Black Keys David Allan Coe Chrissie Hynde Screamin' Jay Hawkins Tracy Chapman Mushroomhead Bone Thugs-N-Harmony  Nine Inch Nails Jon Spencer (from the blues explosion was born in cleveland!) Premonitions of War the Sun SA Smash the Kelley Deal 6000 Shesus Stylex the Libertines 84 Nash ...and probably a whole lot more. The purpose of this thread is to a) comment on the "Rock-a-tude" of Ohio or b) pimp your own state and their rock lineage.

both Hatebreed and Mayer are from one town over from me, Mayer went to my high school, and is banned from the school hall of fame for writing and performin "an unflattering song" about one of the school deans, who owns a liquor store, and therefore is accused of being an alcoholic. |
