The album you never thought you'd love
The new Blink 182 album. They took some time out to learn their instruments, especially the bassist. They collaborated heavily with The Cure. They slowed down quite a few songs and gone towards a regularized ballad tone with many of them. The album is NOT peppy, light, indecent, or immature. It is possible the single best collection of songs from a band I previously abhorred and now respect. I know alot of people are going to write it off as "Blink sucks, oh well" (though they may not voice it), especially since their single "I'm feeling this" seems like just another catatonically-fast, catchy pop-punk hit. However, the rest of the album has a solid foundation with ballads like "All of This", "I Miss You," and "Obvious" providing it a darker, deeper tone to it. If you've enjoyed what Blink182 put out before this, you probably will not find yourself entranced by more hyperspeed punk riffs and catchy lyrics. This album is honestly worth checking out, if only to catch all the songs The Cure helped out on.

St. Anger! I never, ever, EVER, thout I'd love this album. In fact, the first time I heard it, I was incredibly pissed off. But now I can't put it down....I've almost listened to it as much as the old albums now, and St. Anger hasn't been out THAT long. Once you breach the boundary of open mindedness when it comes to St. Anger, you will have the time of your life.

I really didn't think I'd like Empire Burlesque by Bob Dylan. The cover looked so strange and 80s like that I figured it'd be a real dissappointment. However, once I heard the the first track I had to get the album, so I did and have been loving it ever since. Lesson: Never judge an album by the silly picture of the artist on the front.

OUTKAST.
Specifically Dre 3000. I dont really (didnt) like OUTKAST besides "Ms. Jackson". I am tired of the same ol' same ol' Hip Hop and OUTKAST never really turned me out. THEN BAMMMM. THE LOVE BELOW dropped and once I heard it for the first time I was bewildered..."How can this CD be so good?" |

Belle & Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister
It took me close to a year to get into this band. Charlie Daniels Band - Simple Man It took me around 10 years of my dad playing this nonstop on car trips for me to get into it.

Whereas I am not the largest Blink 182 fan in the world, I do enjoy their sound. After watching the MTV special 'Behind the Band' of Blink 182, I've realised that these guys can really play sometimes. I listened to 'Feeling This' and I think I'm in love with some of their stuff.

I'd have to say Lifehouse's first album...their single hanging by a moment was whored on the radio way too much...but someone sent me a copy of the CD (even tho I said I wouldn't like it)...and I gave it a try. It's a really awesome CD, very soothing music and lyrics.
