Hey, Im brand new to the boards and just wondering what everyone is listening to in the instrumental category. I recently picked up the new Explosions In The Sky disc and its quite nice. Like Godspeed but much better in my opinion! anyone else?

Peter Gabriel's album "Passion" which is a soundtrack for a movie I can't remember...it's a brilliant album.

I love GY!BE, all of their albums are awesome. Mogwai is an incredible band too.

Ive always been a huge Godspeed fan, even stood outside bumming for tickets 2 minutes before the show(quite of an experiance), Mogwai has come and gone a few times in my library. Id like to find Godspeeds side projects, Ive heard nothing but great things about em.

ooh, i am sure I can think of a lot-
but I enjoy world music- african and celtic mainly. |
I'm starting to get into Flamenco. I heard a catchy song and was surprised to find out the guitar was played by Slash (of Guns n' Roses).
Slash - Obsession Confession |
Well, right now I am listening to Los Mel-Tones - Sands Go Vermilion, which is sweet surf instrumental. I also Have MP3s of Faultline and The Return of the Surfin' Headhunters. Other instrumentals I like: About half each of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Al Di Meola, with or without Paco de Lucia and John Mclaughlin. Zappa's Orchestral stuff. The Afro-Celt Sound System. I also really like Jethro Tull's instrumentals.
So it's mostly guitar for me. Quote:
