This is Spy Hunter song is pretty good. I love the metal tone on the guitar. It's got just the right balance of crunch and fuzz. The singer goes flat occasionally but overall, his style works well with the rest of the music. Good get drunk and break shit music.
I'm gonna go with something a little different. Next song is: "Can't Exist" - Joseph Arthur http://www.josepharthur.com |
Draconis
This song felt like a mix of emo and country... I'm not really good at classifying music though. The vocals were'nt really impressive but nice nevertheless. The beginning of the second chorus is a bit earlier than that of the first, which is an interesting effect. 6 of 10 Next: Distemper - acca |
Distemper - acca
Nice song but I can't figure out what he's saying. I love the start there.. mix of a few genres :) Like niethan, who gave this song, I'll give it a rating : 7/10 :) My turn Next : The Kings of Convenience - Cayman Islands |
The Kings of Convenience - Cayman Islands:
acoustic guitar sounds cool - that i liked quite a bit. may actually find the tab for it. the vocals i wasnt so keen on however. they sund too.. breathy or something. i don't really know how to explain it but the detract from the song i feel. the strings later on sound really good though (i love strings in music). overall, 6.5/10, maybe a 7 if i was feeling a bit more generous. my song: Clann Zu - You are Listening to a Dead Man Speak Tip for finding this song: soulseek has copies of it. Tip for listening to the song: Headphones and playing it quite loud really make it powerful for me. I'd share it but i'm on a uni network and cant upload or use filesharing programs.. |

Very nice. At different points, the vocalist reminded me of the lead singers of Tool, System of a Down (in a good way), and Interpol. The piano and violins provide a wonderful backing atmosphere. The only negative: I don't think much of the lyrics. They don't appeal to me. But the music is enough to keep this song worthwhile and then some. Good one. Next song: Stew - The Statue Song Warning: It's a mellow one. Can be found here: www.angelfire.com/mi4/jms/index.html |
Stew - Statue Song... Boring. I don't remember what I just did for the past six minutes. I thought about how hungry I was. Sorry, but this song just couldn't hold my attention. It was way too empty. It's not like it was empty just a little bit, no, it was empty for 5:41. Maybe I'm just not in the mood?
On Deck: Steve Vai - 'For the Love of God' |

Next up, something very different from my last rec: Hell is For Heroes - Night Vision www.angelfire.com/mi4/jms/index.html |

in retrospect it wasn't a good idea to use You're Listening To A Dead Man speak as an introduction to clann zu but then again if you ask me there's only one song ive never really liked by them. all the rest is pure gold. their sound changed quite a bit from the first album to the second (dead man is from the first) so you may want to check out something form their second album. i'd recommend From Bethlehem to Jenin or There Will Be No Morning Copy. Glad you liked it though. |

If you like Steve Vai, you should check out some of the shit he does. Fucking REDICULOUS guitarist. Check out 'So Happy' by Steve Vai. It's pretty weird and pretty creepy, but the fact that he can do something like it is pretty cool. Also, his rendition of 'Christmas Time Is Here' is the only christmas song I will EVER like. Ok, how about Pain of Salvation - 'The Perfect Element' Mind you, this is the song, not the album. I also recommend the short guitar solo track that leads into this song called 'Falling'. |
Silverchair - Tuna In The Brine
Asta!! |
You can't just DO that. You have to listen to my song and review it. That's why it's FORCED listening. :p

Appreciate the beat set up by drums.... oooh snaps! Vocal complement is nice too. And I still like the snaps. Reminds me alot of Guster, which I was just listening to! Pretty uppity song, with a mellow relaxed tone to it, which I like alot. Haha, the toys and effects at the end are great. I loved messing around with the shit in the percussion cabinet in High School. Good stuff.
Okay... Way more mainstream, but I know alot of people haven't bothered to listen to the new APC so: A Perfect Circle - 'Passive' |

Next song: Animal Collective - Who Could Win a Rabbit? www.angelfire.com/mi4/jms/index.html |

No doubt that APC hasn't been as good seince the first album, mostly because Paz left and she's hot, but I'll still give them love no matter what. Thats kind of funny too because I generally like most of Chevelle's stuff too. Anyways, Who Could Win a Rabbit?. Alright, so the background noise kind of bothered me, becuase it was really distracting from the guitar and melody and vocals, and it was just generally DISTRACTING. I really couldn't get around that. Even after multiple listens, I think the song would be WAY better off without all the wierd noise in the background, I just totally lost focus because of it. Next: Some fuckin' sweet jazz. Dave Weckl Band - 'Wake Up' off of the album 'Live (and very plugged in)' (looks like no one really wants to play this game, but I like it alot so fuck it, I'll keep doing it til FTA doesn't reply.) |
Works for me, either way.
Dave Weckl Band - Wake Up Nice jazz indeed. I've got this wierd attitude toward jazz; I tend to enjoy it every time I hear it, but I almost never seek it out. It's kinda like I consider it the very best background music I've ever heard (narrowly beating out the Stones), better than a fair amount of the music I do seek out, but I can't seem to give it a higher status than that. This selection is no different, meaning that I do enjoy it quite a bit, but I don't see myself searching for it on my playlist in the future. If it comes up in shuffle mode, I'll likely not skip it. Good one. Next up: The Go! Team - Everyone's a VIP to Someone www.angelfire.com/mi4/jms/index.html |
The link didnt work for me but Thanks to Kazaa i found it. I liked this song, the style was... to me... a little like the Cure on Zoloft or something. I will investigate this band some more.
Next Song.... Unreaddable Communication by Curve. Cant find anything to make a link work but it can be easily found with almost any P2P site. |
