Not album, because I don't buy albums, but I have *ahem* obtained 15 of The Strokes' songs recently and I really like all of them. A first for me, I usually have to get used to a style of music and such. The Strokes kick ass, despite the poll I posted eariler, in this board.
 |
There are just so many it would be a long list. But one that really stands out is: Dark Side Of The Moon. The album mesmerized me for weeks when I first "discoverd" it. I think it changed my taste in music. It still blows my mind every time I listen to it.

Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream" was my second CD I ever bought, I listened the hell out of it every chance I had.
Pearl Jam "Ten" is IMO the best debut album of anyone. Cracker "Kerosene Hat" Every song on this album gives me a warm feeling that I can't get from anywhere else. Massive Attack "Mezzanine" is an album that sounds better every time I listen to it. I am always finding new ways to listen to it, like an ever-evolving puzzle. Pharcyde "Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde" is one of the few rap albums I have. It was given to me by a friend, I quickly had the whole entire album memorized. Natural Born Killers soundtrack is one of the best soundtrack. Leonard Cohen, NIN, Lard, Bob Dylan, Dr. Dre, Barry Adamson, more Leonard Cohen, more NIN, Patsy Cline, oh and L7. I love it. Grant Lee Buffalo "Fuzzy" and "Mighty Joe Moon" Anyone who likes acoustic-based rock with warm vocals and beautiful thought-provoking lyrics should check out the songs from their first 2 albums. Any Concrete Blonde album. Whenever I post in a thread about music I like, I always post about Concrete Blonde. Very under-rated, but I think they like it that way. Not that their music is bright and sunny, but many of their songs have helped me get through some pretty tought spots in life, much more so than any other band I listen to. That's only the beginning... |
Matchbox 20's first album, I can't remember the name, and Blues Traveler's Strait on til Morning are the only 2 I can remember falling in love with instantly, because EVERY song was good, not just one or two selling singles, and mostly filler, like almost every other album I have bought recently...

I just got this, and cannot listen to it enough. I often listen to it 2 or 3 times in a row. This is not common for me to do! It is just so insanely catchy and fun to listen to. "Fire in the disco! Fire in the Taco Bell! Fire in the disco! Fire in the gates of hell!" |
