pop/rock piano

So i got up to grade 5 playing classical crap on the piano and then i quit because the music just didnt inspire me to play and i had to force myself to practice. That was a couple years ago and now i have a nice yamaha upright sitting around collecting dust and after i heard "my immortal" by evanescence i thought it'd be kinda cool to start again playing that sort of music. Any ideas on how to get started?

just find more songs like that and play towards that style maybe go to a music store and look into some music books in that genre.
There is a tight song by Lower Class Brats with piano but i cannot recall the name of the song.

You could learn a lot by listening to Billy Powell of Lynyrd Skynyrd

Jordan Rudess is a really good keyboardist/pianist. He's in the band Dream Theater. He's worked with David Bowie, and a few other solo projects.
