Imaginary Instruments
 

Does anyone else, sometimes, find themselves playing instruments that aren't physically there, when listening to music. It happens quite often and almost everywhere for me, which is really fucking embarrasing.

Although i am pretty good at air guitar and air drums :)
Maybe i'll start a band :p

I was sorta caught doing a bit of a drum solo in the car the other day. Embarrasing and funny at the same time :D

Or even better, i remember in HIgh School, when me and my friends would act like dicks, and play various objects, pretending them to be intruments. I think i was on broom bass most of the time :)

My ex plays the skin flute quite often..... nah just kidding..

yea, i guess i catch my self playing the "drums" (imaginary)... i usually just tap things and keep beats going in my head, it helps me get through the day at work..

I sometimes find myself moving my fingers as if I'm playing guitar. The saddest is probably when I find myself scratching imaginary decks in a club.

I play air bass all the frickin' time. Even worse when I'm shhooting pool and something rocking, or worse, that I know the bass line for comes on and I have this item about the length of my electric in hand, I'll go off right in a pool hall. F*ck 'em if they think it's weird. I enjoy it.

I also play air keyboards sometimes (the keyboard solo in "Subdivisions" is almost sure to set me off), air drums once in a while (my brother used to be able to follow a couple of Neal Peart pieces convincingly on air drums, it was a sight to behold), and air guitar very seldom (usually to punk.)

I'll play air guitar or piano a lot. I play the right notes and chords though :). It's sort of like a mind exercise for me when I don't physically have a guitar or piano to play.

Some friends of mine started rival Air-bands where they work. Each band would have an Air-vocalist, air-guitar, air-drums, and air-whatever else they wanted to play. They would play any song that came on the radio. Unfortunetly i think both badns have since bisbanded :(

i like to play an air instrument completely averse to the instruments actually playing, and at ridiculous angles.

I play air guitar and air piano all the time without even realizing that I'm doing it. I tap drum beats with my hands, too, but thats not really air drumming.
