Just bought Britney Spears Tix!!!!

Okay, everyone rip me, but of all of the concerts I've been to in the last 10 years or so her shows are at the top of the list. I saw her in Indianapolis a couple of years ago and it was fantastic!

So this got me thinking; I know there is a thread for music that you are embarased to listen too, but have you ever been to any concerts you're embarrassed about?

Obviously I'm not too embarrassed about seeing Britney for the 3rd time, but I was wondering about some of you and how you felt.

Who was the performer?

Why did you go?

And was the show any good?

Did you also buy a bottle of handcream and a shady seat where no one can see you? That's the only reason why I'd go see her live.

I *almost* went to an Avril concert. But I decided not to go when I found out 90% of the attendants were 12 year old girls. The other 10% were their parents. I'll pass.

OK people, stop raggin' on Jadey because of concert choices. If he/she likes to see Britney live, then that's his/her prerogative, no matter how absolutely incomprehensible it might seem to others, including myself, who once paid 15 dollars to see Melissa Ethridge live, just to see Ashley MacIsaac open. Some of the girls in the crowd had more hair than me and could probably kick my ass.

Hmm, for me it was Dave Matthews. Bought the tickets for a girlfriend. She's really into his music. I think I only knew one song through the whole set. It was an ok concert. They had no band opening. Which was weird. Waited quite awhile for the band to setup. It was an ok concert. Just not my kind of music.

Going to a Britney Spears concert is like going to see a big, expensive, loud Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer blockbuster. They pour millions of dollars into it and it will make millions of dollars in profit, but it's all flash and bang, style over substance. It's like eating angel food cake or whip cream for a meal. Not exactly filling.

Thanks Bob. BTW, I'm a HE. Also, I would have paid 15 bucks to see Ashley MacIsaac too. Not much of a Melissa Ethridge fan, but still.

I know this is sad, so I'm not sure why I'm sharing this with you all, but I'm going to show with my 27 year old brother too. We were going to go alone, but a "support group" decided that it would be in our best interests not to. His fiancee and some of her HOT friends are going with us. Even though we been to numerous shows together including the likes of Metallica, Slayer, Janet Jackson, Martina McBride, Slipknot, Matchbox 20, Veruca Salt, Eminem, etc. this time he said she was pissed becuase he wanted to go. WTF? We've seen Britney twice before too. Anyway, I think it's a great show and I like her music and she's HOTTT! Okay there you go, I said it.

Can I come Jadey? ;D

I haven't been to any really big concerts as they don't come to my part of the world all that often. And usually when they do, I can't be arsed going.

Doesn't change the fact that I'd only go see her live would be to jack-off... what? It's not like you didn't think the same thing *ALT-TAB's to Porn window*.

hmm. trying to get this back on topic,
at a music festival once, I sat thru a couple of rap acts that I'm not proud of admitting to.
(however, I did manage to fall asleep during one of them)

If you said you also got backstage passes then I might see your point in going.

Unless you wanted to pick up on all the hot 14 year olds which would be kinda sick.

But I could be wrong, maybe Britney's attracting all the hot 18-22 year olds nowadays.

Altough I enjoyed it at the time and I still consider it one of the better concerts I've seen, I didn't admit to too many people at the time that I'd seen Duran Duran.

Actually it ended up being me, my sister and about 6 of her friends (all female), so it was a good time. Keep in mind this was in 1987 on the "Seven & the Ragged Tiger" tour, while they were in their prime.

Great show.

Hey man. I saw Britney in Louisville a few years back. It was a good time. She's hot and seeing a bunch of girls running around in hoochie clothing isnt too bad either.

I saw George Michael in 1988, and it still ranks, hands down, as the best concert I've ever seen. And I've seen hundreds.

I saw Debbie Gibson. Also saw Richard Marx. Both with my mom. I drew the line at Rod Stewart.

I'll second that.

Actually, I would not pass up any concert I had the opportunity to go to. I have had some great times seeing musicians that I'm not even a fan of. As far as a Britney concert...well...i'd prolly go even if I was deaf

What the world has taught me about music is that I SHOULD be embarassed about seeing Sizter Hazel twice, but I'm not. At all. They're a great band, and I don't care if they're folk/trad-rock. They put on a great show and they're really nice guys.

Hootie and the Blowfish were assholes though, wish I'd never gone to that one.

You SHOULD be embarassed about seeing Sister Hazel twice. But I've only seen them ONCE so I'm okay.

I saw Avril Lavinge and it was a pretty good show. There were some kids there, but a lot of people my age too.
