Huzzah!

Zappa is damn good, although as vonstalhein pointed out, Beefheart is another fantastical muscian. Different from most other things you hear and soooo refreshing. I actually only have really heard Zappa's Hot Rats album which is really funcky fusion jazz sorta stuff? it's hard to exaplin, gotta hear it. Beefheart does some vocals on the album as well

Anyway, i know Zappa has a shitload of albums, but could others point out some of his better or quintessential ones?
without ambiguously saying all of them, or something like that

As for Beefheart, Trout Mask Replica and Safe as Milk are worth a look in.

My favorite is Sheik Yerbouti also. Joe's garage is a good album also. I've written more in the other Zappa thread.
