I just discivered the musical brilliance that is Frank Zappa. I NEED MORE!!!

Broken Hearts are for Assholes is one of my favorite Zappa songs.

My friend burned me the album sheik yerbouti. Its got that tune on there. What an insane song. Hell, they are all insane songs.

I must now find this artist and add it to my massive collection. :D

Captain beefheart, Zappa's prodigy. Check HIM out! he once held a shotgun to his bands until they finished the album...

Zappa is damn good, although as vonstalhein pointed out, Beefheart is another fantastical muscian. Different from most other things you hear and soooo refreshing. I actually only have really heard Zappa's Hot Rats album which is really funcky fusion jazz sorta stuff? it's hard to exaplin, gotta hear it. Beefheart does some vocals on the album as well

Anyway, i know Zappa has a shitload of albums, but could others point out some of his better or quintessential ones?
without ambiguously saying all of them, or something like that :)

As for Beefheart, Trout Mask Replica and Safe as Milk are worth a look in.
