i can still make cheyenne -- george straight
the revilator -- gillian welch fancy - reba mcintyre sin wagon -- dixie chicks portland oregon -- loretta lynn and jack white the pill - loreta lynn harper valley pta -- Jeannie C. Riley don't come home a-drinkin with lovin on your mind -- loretta lynn Stand By Your Man -- Tammy wynette nobody knows me -- lyle lovett i really could go on and on -- there's a lot more to country music than most people bother to explore (the current trends in pop country don't exactly do much to help the genre) |

Crazy, and She's Got You, are amazing as well...I didn't realize until yesterday that: -Willie Nelson wrote Crazy -She was only 30 when she passed away -She was born about an hour away from where I live in Winchester, VA I'm also a huge fan of Hank Williams Sr. too and Hank III who is his grandson. Anything by Hank Williams is great, and right now Lovesick Blues strikes me as awesone too, that's simply a bad ass, up til 3am, drinkin' and guitar playin blues-having sad but awesome great tune! |

Not a fan of the new country sound that's popular on CMT, but like a lot of the older artists.
As far as favorite songs go, a lot come to mind. Long Black Veil would rank up there as one of my favorites (first done, I'm pretty sure, by Lefty Frizzell; my favorite version is Johnny Cash's)

Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson (Red Headed Stranger album), and Marty Robbins (haven't heard El Paso in ages, but this thread brought it to mind). Any country made in the last 15-20 years is unlistenable to me.
