fancy - reba mcintyre
sin wagon -- dixie chicks
portland oregon -- loretta lynn and jack white

harper valley pta -- Jeannie C. Riley
don't come home a-drinkin with lovin on your mind -- loretta lynn

i really could go on and on -- there's a lot more to country music than most people bother to explore (the current trends in pop country don't exactly do much to help the genre)

Travis Tritt - She's Going Home With Me
Garth Brooks - Friends In Low Places
Kenny Chesney - Keg In the Closet
Alabama - Tennessee River

Walkin' After Midnight is my absolute favorite song right at this moment. Man she was such a great singer, her voice is haunting!!

Crazy, and She's Got You, are amazing as well...I didn't realize until yesterday that:

-Willie Nelson wrote Crazy
-She was only 30 when she passed away
-She was born about an hour away from where I live in Winchester, VA

I'm also a huge fan of Hank Williams Sr. too and Hank III who is his grandson. Anything by Hank Williams is great, and right now Lovesick Blues strikes me as awesone too, that's simply a bad ass, up til 3am, drinkin' and guitar playin blues-having sad but awesome great tune!

Not a fan of the new country sound that's popular on CMT, but like a lot of the older artists.

As far as favorite songs go, a lot come to mind. Long Black Veil would rank up there as one of my favorites (first done, I'm pretty sure, by Lefty Frizzell; my favorite version is Johnny Cash's)

"Tonight I'll be Stayin' Here With You" and "To Be Alone With You", both by Bob Dylan. Simply great songs, country or otherwise.

Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson (Red Headed Stranger album), and Marty Robbins (haven't heard El Paso in ages, but this thread brought it to mind). Any country made in the last 15-20 years is unlistenable to me.

I wouldn't call that counrty, more like "Hick Rock", but damn, the video is awsome.

I'm likin' "She's my kind of rain" by Tim Mcgraw. Again not really country...
