I have no idea what most of all these names are! Are they really so different?

I'm not sure, so maybe I should let someone else post who is sure of the answer, but I think math rock could be classified as bands which mix up time signatures in their songs, example: the Tool song "Lateralus" starts out with what I think is a 9-8-7 signature.

edit: most of these I knew, minus rapcore, spiritual metal, doom metal.. which I care less about.... But to keep in 'theme' with the thread, I DID know those others!

i always had the understanding that math metal/rock were the really technical type sounds such as dream theatre or rush. yes a lot of crazy time signature switches and whatnot. very clean and precise.
