Who do you wish you could sing like?

This was hard to search for so i don't know if this has come up before.

If you could sing like anyone, who'd it be. For me it'd probably be Jeff Buckley, he has such an amazing voice. Although i like to think that i am not too bad a singer (although thats in my own head where my voice resonates differently) i really wish i could reach some of the notes he could. Its funny though, cause sometimes i don't like listening to Grace or other albums cause i can't remotely sing along to the song cause i sound so bad
Also, it'd be so much easier to serenade a girl if i could sing somehwere in the realms of this guy, although thats another issue.

so yeah, for me Jeff Buckley and also rest in peace, another muscian who died way, way too young

if i could sing as well as play the guitar as well as Matt Bellamy (Lead singer Muse) it would have to be him,
or if i could write lyrics as well as sing, it would have to be Chris Martin (Coldplay),
but if it was just singing...hmm this is hard...
it has to be old skool Michael Jackson, from his Dangerous and Bad days, not the recent stuff. He had a great voice.

Good question. Probably Freddie Mercury. He hit some ridiculous notes, and the funny thing is that his highest, most powerful notes weren't recorded until after he was quite sick from AIDS.

I'd also like to sing with the range of Jason Mraz. I don't like many of his vocal inflections (he gets a little breathy, and inserts an "h" before many vowels) but he really hits some great notes as well.

Man, that is tough...so many great voices out there. I'd have to go with either Plant, Ozzy or Dio or Bruce Dickinson--all great and distinct voices.

Hmm though I might like to have a voice that would broaden my abilities as a front man and make me more versatile and be able to sing grunge, metal, alternative, classic rock, choral styles, etc. Like some of my older favorites (Freddy Mercury) and some of my newer ones (Daniel Johns) I don't think I'd want to have anyones voice but my own. I have a pretty good one and I can sing a pretty good number of styles only thing I can't really do is scream out a note whether it be something like Brett Scallions on Innocent or Daniel Johns on Spawn Again or Chino on Digital Bath, Serj on Spiders (I don't think I can do that..never tried), Vedder on Black, etc. It'd be nice to and all but ya know if I was meant to be able to scream like that I would have been given that ability. Instead I'll just sing period like many of the other good vocalists out there like Don Mclean and Jim Croche, Justin Hayward, Adam Duritz, Darius Rucker, Chris Martin, etc. They do just fine without it and if I work at it I could to. Never know until I can actually front a band for real what exactly I'll be capable of but maybe some day I'll be lucky enough to find out.

Asta!!

My first thought was Robert Plant, then I thought maybe Jim Morrison, and now I can't decide.

I wish I had a wider vocal range, and I ws just listening to some Zeppelin. Then I started thinking that I always wish I could match the vocals while listening to The Doors.

For me, Jim Morrison, even though I really don't like the guy, or 99.99% of the music his band produced. I can sing like Black Francis from the now-defunct Pixies, sort of.
