Either Art Garfunkel or Frankie Valli. Both amazing talents.
Chino from the Deftones
Hmm. Freddy Mercury, Robert Plant, or Chris Cornell for pure range and technique. Louis Armstrong or Tom Waits for personal preference (and I am damn close on the latter.)
humpty hump
Paul Rodgers of Bad Company
Sammy Hagar Oh man.... How could I have almost forgotten Don Henley!? |

Roger Waters. Perhaps he doesn't have the classic vocal talent that others in his own band and throughout the rock world have, but the raw emotion and tones he brings are unique. He's an aquired taste for many, but I think we can all agree that ONLY he can sing his music the way it has to be sung. When the post-Waters Floyd tries it, it doesn't sound right at all.
Lou Reed, as well. Who else but he and Bob Dylan can get away with basically talking rythmically? -Mikey |
Woman - Tori Amos
Man - Eddie Vedder |

But since I'm a girl... I'll go with Amy Lee from Evanescence. She is amazing. |
Johnny Cash or Jim Morrison that would be grand
I always thought silent_jay sounded like tiny tim!
I'd have to go with the crowd favorite and say Freddy Mecury, with Brian Molko from Placebo coming in second, and Billy Corgan following up in third place.
what's up rideough, you still got that man crush on ray manzarek don't try to hide it i see the shrine when i visit. lol
The main singer from AFI or Coheed and Cambria. They have an amazing range.
I agree with chris cornell.
Another vote for Maynard James Keenan of Tool / APC
Definitely without a doubt:
James Hetfield (Metallica) -Lasereth |
Chad Gray from Mudvayne
Sully Erna - Godsmack
Right on Jadey, I'd give anything to be able to hang in there like Ed Kowalcyk of LIVE. Dude's the real deal. I think he writes a lot of his stuff, too. At least he used to.. Haven't checked the jackets on Birds of Prey and the one before that. I'm still deep into their earlier stuff. Awesome in concert. He must be able to hit several octaves.

Either Stevie Wonder or Maxwell
Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante from the RHCP. Or maybe the lead singer of the real Mackenzies. He has such a cool sounding voice. Check out the song Lest We Forget to see what I mean.
I can’t believe how many people put down singers that have average if not down right bad voices. I mean…John Davis, Dave Matthews, Chris Cornell, Anthony Kedis, Maynard James Keenan, c’mon people…
Even Jim Morrison wasn’t all that hot. You can put down pretty much any voice behind some good music and decent lyrics to make it sound good or at least unique… Me? I would have to say Bono, that or Luis Armstrong, cant decide whether I like the highs or the lows. |
I'd have to go with Karen Carpenter--okay, the music was cheesy, but she had an awesome voice. I'd also love to sing like Kay Hanley.
Definitily Freddy Mercury.
Or maybe Billy Joel.... |
I sure wish I could sing like:
Bradley Nowell (the late lead singer of Sublime) Hank Williams, Sr. Johnny Cash |
Christina Aguilera. She has a pair of lungs and she uses them well.
or Gwen Stefani - i just love her all around. and she's more classy than most female pop stars. |
Gavin Rossdale
I cant believe I forgot Barry White, that's definitely how I would want to sing.
*Hits himself on the head for forgeting such a legend* |
Alfalfa...
"Let me call you sweetheart I'm in love with yoooooooooooooou" |
charlatan - you will win all the girls heart that way. i love it =P
hmm hard one..
no particular order -Maynard ( hes just awsome.. tool and Perfect circle own) -james hetfield - nice metal voice -craig david-though im not a fan of his music he has an amazing voice - the incubus guy |
Sinatra... what girl could resist that?
I'd like to be able to reach the vocal range Mike Patton has under his command, fantastic!
Definitely Chris Cornell.

having just seen Luciano Pavarotti and Rod Stewart sing on Parky, i'm definitely adding them to this little list.
Robert Smith
Daniel Gildenlöw, from Pain of Salvation
I'd like to have a low distinctive singing voice like Mark Knopfler
jim gnecco? from OURS
Allison Krauss
please, everyone wishes they could sing like me :-)
i love a lot of these suggestions for the ladies, but i won't bother to reiterate. instead i'll just add...
1.ani difranco- the woman can go from this beautiful voice that will put you to sleep to this strong, message carrying warrior in the blink of an eye. amazing 2. brody dalle from the distillers-something about a screaming punk girl's raw voice just does it for me |
Nicholas Tse, he's a chinese pop star in Hong Kong. That guy can really sing.
http://tvseriesfans.com/forums/showt...=&threadid=231 Or be able to raise my voice as high as his with out cracking my voice. |
You guys drop names and i feel like a loser becuase i have to look up half of them =P and im a huge music person. and a dork, it works....
Audra McDonald, she has such a beautiful, powerful, incredible voice. She also has such great expression, which is something that as a vocal performance major I'm always working towards. :)
Stevie Nicks or Janis Joplin. . .I never could get into female vocalists that hit the high notes.
I love a woman with a gravely low voice, I wish I could sing like that. |
