Best AFI CD?
A bunch of my friends have been saying how good AFI is, so i went out and bought their newest album. It's not bad, but i was wondering your opinions on their 'best' album yet?

Don't like em. Dudes voice just does not fit with the band's style. He's waaaaaaaay too high pitched. They have the most kick ass video's but I can't stand dudes voice. Theres guys moshing and doing caopoera(sp?) in the freakin video and the chorus is "and it would take my heart away!" wtf? Make sure yer image and music are in unison. Not feelin em at all. I may offend someone but dude looks like an anorexic Danzig on crack. Still better than most of these crap band out though.

The Art of Drowning
...far and away the best... just... so easily... |
I'm more favoring to "Black Sails In The Sunset"
but theres always the "Shut your mouth and open your eyes" since it was the first cd of thiers i heard, the whole impact impression thing yaknow. |
Very Proud of Ya is definetely the best.
Nice how we all suggested different ones. VPoY is much more punkish I guess. They're all good stuff though. |
I'll have to go with The Art of Drowning as well. Also The Hallow's Eve EP with Total Immortal (most famous for being covered by The Offspring) is awesome.

THey've been around for a better part of 10 years unlike any of them shit bands you fancy to mention. Every year they've grown stronger and still sellout thier shows. |
TY for the suggestions guys! I'll be goin to the store this weekend to pick of some of the albums you guys mentioned

imo Black Sails in the Sunset is there best album. i also think that it will be looked down upon as the classic afi album. unless they come out with a better one.
but you should also consider getting the art of drowning, imo their 2nd best album. the records that came before shut your mouth and open your eyes are more punk. at symaoye their style started to change into what they are today. Sing the Sorrow a little softer than any of their previous records. |
