I have a couple of songs.
1: There is a remix of Orgy's "Fiction (Dreams in Digital)" that I have and want to know the artist that mixed it. 2: I found a Bizarre Remix of Cold's "Stupid Girl." Not that the mix is bad, but that is actually part of the title, but I can't tell for sure if it is legal stuff. I originally found it on www.extremecold.org but the site no longer exists. Was that site even legal? Guess not. Even if you've heard them that's a good start.

Does anyone know that song you tend to hear at basketball games? It sounds like techno, then you hear people start singing along with the melody but with no words. I know this is vague, but I don't know how to describe it any better.

trolled through adtunes for a while, but i didn't come up with anything
they should make accessing old pages faster in the forum if you don't search, you can only advance 2 at a time anyway, the song i'm interested in was featured in a car commercial in late 2003/early 2004. the song was some chillout track that i can't determine. here is my best approximation of what i remember (no i'm not going to sing): http://rapidshare.de/files/1655061/mystery.mp3.html (64 kb) two scenes that i can recall: side view of car in a store parking lot, hatchback open, being loaded from the rear (which is on the left side of the screen) then there is a brief look from inside the car: one hip looking black guy sitting in the back seat, shot low from the front center armrest it seemed like the options that the car had were changing throughout, but i can't say for sure (i.e. hatchback, no hatchback shown by morphing). likely to have been an import. thanks for participating... trickyy: Mitsubishi really got into a lot of trendy songs to promote their cars and if you think about it, helps narrow things down. Ford & Chrysler haven't gone the music route for the most part to my memory if you don't count these type music. Chevy has and they almost all seem to be American Themed / Springsteen type stuff. Nissan is almost all two songs that have something like zoom zoom in them. This doesn't sound like something the Germans would do unless it is Volkswagon maybe? Same for the high end Japanese cars like Lexus et all.
After that, not sure. Can't think of a Toyota comercial off hand other than the one were that bitter chic throws her BF's truck off the cliff(funny). I found this information at http://www.zipposusa.com/mitsubishi/mitsubishisongs.htm There is supposed to be every song they have used since 1999 through current. They have a couple of the songs available for download as well. Hope this helps your search. Need name of Hawaiian band that covers "fire" (Pointer Sisters)
Ok so I heard at a university "luau" this Hawaiian cover of the Pointer Sisters song "Fire" (written by bruce springsteen) the cover was such a chill perfect summer song. Anyone know the band? Trying to find more of this stuff.
lyrics (to spark your memory) I'm ridin' in your car, you turn on the radio You're pullin' me close, I just say no I say I don't like it, but you know I'm a liar 'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire Late at night, you're takin' me home You say you wanna stay, I say I wanna be alone I say I don't love you, but you know I'm a liar 'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire BRIDGE You had a hold on me right from the start A grip so tight I couldn't tear it apart My nerves all jumpin', actin' like a fool Well, your kisses they burn, but my heart stays cool... Well, Romeo and Juliet, Samson and Delilah Baby you can bet a love they couldn't deny My words say split, but my words they lie 'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire LEAD BREAK Ooh fire... Kisses like fire... Burn me up with fire I like what you're doin now, fire Touchin me, fire Touchin me, burnin me, fire Take me home FADE Male singer by the way

OK, covers, that's my department...
Checking over at The Covers Project, the song Fire was covered by Ho'onu'a, which certainly sounds like it would be a Hawaiian band. This song is on their album Have a Good Time (Amazon link). Next time, use the sticky thread at the top of the Music subforum for song requests.

You know that Shaggy song, Angel? I'm pretty sure it's a cover of an oldie song, but I'm trying to figure out what the name of the old song is. Angel is too common of a word, and anything that comes up is the Shaggy song.

No one will probably know, but it's worth a try.
I've heard this song once, and it was a few months ago. It's a country song ( I NEVER listen to country music so, i dont know any people or anything really ). I know it was about some guy reading a newspaper about a guy killing himself, or something? I know in the video it shows him in a truck, looking at the newspaper. I really don't remember it much, so I can't give too much info, so I doubt anyone can help, but like I said, it's worth a try! Thanks for any help. |

JeremyS,
I believe you are referring to Blaine Larson's song, How Do You Get That Lonely. I personally love the song, and for a young guy, he really has a great voice. Here are the song lyrics just to be sure: It was just another story written on the second page Underneath the Tiger's football score It said he was only eighteen, a boy about my age They found him face down on the bedroom floor There'll be services on Friday at the Lawrence Funeral Home Then out on Mooresville highway, they'll lay him 'neath a stone... How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all Is better than the life that you had How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go How do you get that lonely... and nobody know Did his girlfriend break up with him, did he buy or steal that gun? Did he lose a fight with drugs or alcohol? Did his Mom and Daddy forget to say I love you son? Did no one see the writing on the wall? I'm not blamin' anybody, we all do the best we can I know hindsight's 20/20, but I still don't understand... How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all Is better than the life that you had How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go How do you get that lonely... and nobody know It was just another story printed on the second page Underneath the Tiger's football score... |

90's rock/alternative song
The song I'm thinking features vocals similar to either gavin rossdale [bush] but very well could be by someone else...
A lot of the lyrics were indecipherable, due to the vocalist's bumbling, but I was able to figure out in the chorus had: "ey, ey, ey, ey....." ; 'Let me be' ; "hold me closer" and "like myself" all in the chorus, in various parts of it.... Although Nirvana's heart shaped box also contains the 'ey, ey,' in it - I'm positive this isn't the same song as described above. Thanks ! Keyshawn EDIT: After doing some searching on google and itunes, It's Stone Temple Pilots - Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart....the vocalist doesn't sound like Scott Weiland at all, weird.

There is a "Smooth Jazz" song featuring a male and later, female, vocalist.
The most prevalent line throughout the song (chorus line, but lead singer sings it), is "I thought about you/ya." The song starts with the male singing and later the female singer sings back, as if answering his sentiments. I heard it on the radio yesterday (and before), and I really dig it, but have been unable to locate the artist and song name so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey guys,
I heard this song at a party last night, tried to copy some of the lyrics into my phone, but anything I got was of no use, no lyrics came up on google. It's a rock song, and includes a line that includes the words "only people come..." and I was pretty sure they mentioned "Sunset Boulevard" and the latter part of the song, the singer and the backup singer do a really catchy harmony together, over and over again. I hate when this happens. Dammit.

I'm looking for info on a song, probably from the 70's, that has a couple of guys singing harmony and backed by guitars. The chorus lyrics include something like 'Are you living now...slowly finding how.. it's been a long long day, it's been a long long day' (could be 'way' instead of 'day'?)
thoughts? |

and another one that haunts me was from an episode of 'Ironside' where the story revolves around a rock band with a blind female singer and the lead guitarist gets electrocuted from someone tampering with his wah-wah pedal. They sing a song 'Light the way, won't you light the way... I think that we can make it and I know that we can survive so I 'm hoping that you will be with me just as long as I'm alive'.
I'd love to find out who really recorded the song and if it's available...or failing that I'm watching out for Ironside on dvd.... |

Okay, who was that group (circa 1990) whose first hit sampled "true" by spandau ballet? It was 2 (?) black guys who wore very african/hippy type clothing in the videos. Very trancey/trippy music.
